Car Rentals in Iceland

The car was great. Unfortunately we were not picked up at the airport on arrival and had to organize our own transfer. When we raised this with Go, there was neither an explanation nor an apology. I will recommend Northbound without hesitation!

Great little car. It has done a lot of hard work for us. We had a great experience with it travelling true iceland. Done some f roads and it did really great. Don't expect to do the though roads with it. We had https://epiciceland.net/list-f-roads-iceland/ as our guide to check if we could take them. Camping cars was great in customer help and did a good job making it a nice trip.

The car was stable, easy to drive and really spacious and did very. All in all, it did well on the roads, including gravel and unpaved roads

This car is a myth! passing a ford with this car makes you feel like a viking !!!

We rented two Dacia Duster 4x4s for our 14-day tour of Iceland. The rental was excellent. The car was high-performing with all the necessary comforts. The customer service was great. The airport shuttle service was also very convenient. Highly recommended company :)

True to Northbound's promise, if I noticed the price of my exact rental decreasing at any point between the booking and the trip, a short email to Northbound, and they quickly adjusted the price. The car itself was clean, well-optioned, and quite fuel efficient. I would absolutely recommend Northbound to anyone looking for car rental in Iceland. As for Lotus, the staff was courteous, thorough, and friendly. Tom brought us to the rental location from the airport swiftly, and Sebastian got us on our way with our car. He also brought us back to the airport when our trip ended. Lotus' employees do it all. Great experience all-around. Thank you!

Hi there, everything went perfect with our booking. We got an upgrade to the new model and everything was fine. All the contact was super friendly, super smooth and just exactly as much as needed. Not more not less. I can highly recommend that company.

We got a 2022 Dacia Duster for the same price. We liked the car and didn't have any problems. We went across the F35 and the car did it really well. Eventually because of the road conditions we must not use the 4 wheel drive and came along everywhere with 2 wheels, even to Kjerlingafjell.

Excellent experience - everything was extremely unproblematic and well organised from pick-up to return.

It was a good experience. We faced no issues on the road. Crossed 2 -3 rivers and did quite a bit of off-road driving (F Roads)

We ended up with a Mazda 2 - and it was PERFECT. I took us all over your stunning county. WIthout any questions it was the holiday of a lifetime, and the car was a big part of it.

I think that car is not good for rental. Is to old and a lot of rust inside. The doors were not working correctly when you close them. A lot of plastic pieces inside the car were missing or broken and leaved inside. We waited half an hour to pick up the car at the arrival.

everything perfect!!!! very kind and helpful. I had asked to be picked up in the city, Rijo camper instead delivered me the same day of my arrival, picking me up at the airport and assigning me the camper one day before, all for free.

We had a great experience renting from Konvin via Northbound! The shuttle from the airport was timely and communication was excellent; the car was extremely clean upon pickup; it drove well throughout our time in Iceland; and it provided a great sleeping quarters for our two-week trip in the country. I only have a couple suggestions / areas for improvement: 1) I think there could be some built-in storage on the backside of the main cargo hold / sleeping area, above the "head" of the bed. This area is currently empty space and would make it easier to access belongings. 2) There could be another light (or two) in the inner area/sleeping hold. 3) There could be a small gas burner and fuel canister provided with the cooking supplies to serve as a fuel source and means to cook or heat water. 4) There should be a backup camera. The mirrors don't extend wide enough to adequately see behind, and the lack of access to the rear window makes it a blind reverse. 5) The check-in process upon pickup could be expedited-- there were only two other groups in front of us, but it took nearly 45 minutes to get through both.

The Duster got fantastic fuel economy There was plenty of room for three people and our luggage for a 12 day tour of Iceland.

The Suzuki Vitara was not available, but we got an upgrade to a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, which we were very satisfied.

Good fuel consumption, about 4.6ltr/100km, great range. All communication and voichers were with Go Iceland but the car actually, unbeknowst to the client, was from ACE rental, this you only learn when you return the car at the GO Iceland office and find out that it has to be brought back to ACE rental which is a few kilometers aways. There is a little sticker on the car key holder. The car had some dents but all documented well. The pick-up time from the airport was almost one hour so factor this in for the travel planning.

Hi, Our trip to Iceland went great. However, we experienced a few disagreement related to the car and the car rental company Ring. First, the key of the car suddenly stopped closing and opening the car. Neither were we able to open the car manually with the key provided. We called Ring to get help about it and they didn’t do anything about it (except recommending to go to a mechanics but everything was closed on a Saturday where we were). So we decided to buy a new battery for the key (at our own expenses), but that only solved partially the problem, the key continued going off sometimes. As a consequence, we had to let the car open with all of our stuff inside, very stressful!! Second, we had booked the car drop off at 22h. We waited 30min before calling them and the person on the phone told us they had forgot us and that we had to go to the airport on our own and leave the car there ! This is unacceptable that no one informed us and that they Forget about us completely. Nonetheless, both the car and the tent were quite okay. But the service by Ring was really bad and disappointing, even more for a rental this expensive.

The car can perfect, but the service and friendliness provided may Star Car Rental was completely outstanding, beyond any expectations.
