Firstly, the car stopped working just after less than 12h since I have rent it.
The situation was made worse by the fact that the worker who answered my call was very rude and did not allow me to explain properly what was happening with the car. He kept insisting that it was a battery problem and ended up hanging up the phone before I could explain that it was not a battery issue.
The replacement car was smaller than the car that I have rent, so I asked to change the car and arranged to pick up the new car at 9 am the next day at the location where we were in the country, but the car arrived 3 hours later.
I am extremely disappointed with the service that I received from the company. The customer service that I received was lacking. The staff was unhelpful and unfriendly, and it seemed as though they were not interested in addressing my concerns.
I had hoped for an stress-free and enjoyable vacation, but instead, I was met with frustration and I had waste lot of time during my holidays trying to solve this issue.

Hi , we had a great time in Iceland, but the Suzuki is out dated now, it was not a nice car to drive , a lot of thing in the car don’t work right, the high beam switch not working right, the door lock not working right, the hand brake was a joke ,the car was also pulling to the right what you was driving it , the car as got a lot of faults but the main one is for the head lights are so dull when driving in the dark , which made it hard to see the road

While the price was good, we were quite disappointed by the customer service we received. Despite booking well ahead of time through Northbound and arriving with all the instructed voucher numbers and documentation printed out, Icerental 4x4 had no record of our reservation. They gave our group a very hard time about fulfilling the reservation, and we arrived prior to Northbound's opening hours so no one was available to confirm our reservation or help. Eventually Icerental 4x4 did honor the reservation, for which we were grateful. When we left the parking lot, our car had a squeaking sound in the wheel that got progressively worse as we drove along the ring road. When we called for a mechanic, Icerental quickly responded with a traveling mechanic which was great. Unfortunately though, Icerental expected US to pay for the mechanic even though the problem existed before picking up the car. Would not rent from them again.

Hi Runar,
Thank you for asking. The experience with Icerental 4x4 was not so good as expected.
1. Provided car was overused 140 000 km for Subaru Forester 2018
2. We had oil exposure within motor tank. In Rejkyavik I was seen some oil signs on the car, I have opened motor tank and saw there a lot of oil, we have contacted support, they checked and tell us that someone forgot to close oil tank, I have closed it manually.... I was a bit confused to listen it, why it was NOT checked...
3. Receiving a car was so slow...... we arrived at 1:00 a.m. and got car just around 4:00 a.m.
4. At the end we have paid 1100 euro for 2 scratches..... I still didnt get response from them, what is the real price and if I should get refund
5. The last one they charge deposite 3000 euro. First time I got such practice. Money still not returned to me

We had reserved two Suzuki Grand Vitara’s from Icerental 4x4 but only one reservation went through due to a error on their side. As a result, we weren’t on the list to be picked up from the airport, and this caused us to waste time at the airport. They ended up giving us two Jeep Grand Cherokees. The horns on the cars did not work, and there were many times drivers in Iceland suddenly stopped or tried to pull out suddenly in front of us, but we had no way of honking to let them know. We were lucky to not have gotten into an accident. As for Icerental 4x4 the company, they tried to make money off of every little imperfection in the car - thank goodness we had pictures and videos! Northbound should really look at the google reviews for Icerental 4x4 and reconsider offering their services.

We had a lot of hassle in the beginning. The first car we got had a broken exhaust pipe and made terrible noise. The second one we were offered had a broken door to the driver seat, and we refused that car. The third we got was a Grand Cherokee that we drove for three days, then the ABS break warning lamps started to signal. We contacted Icerental 4x4 and they wanted us to make a 1,5 hrs detour to exchange the car. The fourth car we got was an almost brand new Hyundai SantaFee and this was in the end very satisfactory. This car had some ugly scratches in the front and luckily my wife took some photos of this before we drove off for the first time. This turned out to be very important when we returned the car. To my mind, it is a mutual obligation to document the damages on the car, both the renter and the owner should do their best...
