Icerental 4x4 in Iceland

It was good reliable and worked well

was really pleased with the whole Northbound package. We were collected just as promised from the airport and taken to collect our vehicle. The pickup was easy and efficient. At the end of our trip the drop off process was also very good and we were delivered safely back to the airport. I would definitely use these guys again.

Really good vehicle in good condition and for a great price. Friendly service. Was picked up at the airport and dropped off no problems. There was a bit of confusion when we arrived, as I was expecting a Northbound Rep rather than an Icerental 4x4 rep but once we sorted that then all was good

We had enogh space for 4 persons and the big bagages. Unfortunately due to the wind and the slightly" used doors" it made loud noises. The gear was also "used". All in all the car was ok but you could see and feel that it was bit older and much in use.

Good overall experience. Car was in good shape and well equipped for the winter with studded snow tires. We didn’t have any issues and everything was smooth at pick up and drop off. Would consider renting again from here.

I would struggle to recommend Icerental 4x4 currently. Being a newish company , they are clearly struggling with the demand and logistics. The external condition of the car was poor and there were many elements that were broken or needed attention eg wipers, central locking , cracked windscreen, rear washer, door seals....to name but a few...but the important element - the tyres, were new and in excellent condition. The car used an exceptional quantity of fuel so perhaps the engine wasn't running as smoothly as it should. It would have been really interesting to have a working external temperature gauge but this car's one was hugely inaccurate. There was a great deal of confusion about returning the car - firstly the address of the office should be preprogrammed into the sat nav on the home page, secondly either a return journey to the airport OR a local hotel should be offered as standard by all staff so no confusion occurs as it did for us. Not even offering to order a taxi for us (we were willing to pay) was shocking customer service. The Albanian staff member saved tbe day! A useful tip would be a 5 minute tutorial about the individual car and advice re buying fuel would be really helpful. More staff at busy times would also facilitate a shorter wait. The paperwork was clear and the cost wasn't exorbitant so i guess some you win, some you loose. We still had an excellent holiday!!

The car ran very smoothly and all 4 of us were very comfortable. I did not get too adventurous and did not go off road. It handled any ice we encountered very well. Hrafn, our host, recommended you. We were pleased with your service.

Good service but long time of waiting to get the car keys at your office

I am extremely delighted with the service and experience with my 8 days on a road trip in a Suzuki Grand Vitara 4x4 by myself and my partner in Iceland. With all the warnings and help from Icerental 4x4, it was very easy to travel with care. In addition, they are very helpful. I was late to go to the airport and without asking they took me to the airport quickly and I did not miss my flight thanks to them. Additionally, they have 4x4 cars perfect to go for a ride and safe. Because the weather in Iceland never bores you, It is extreme and fun, especially the snow and the wind in winter.

Our experience with you was amazing! Everything was perfect, since the booking until the moment we returned the car. Would recomended 100%!!

We were generally pretty happy with our rental. The car did great for us and got us through our trip as expected. The positives with your company were the price of the rental, friendliness of staff, and quickness of pickup/dropoff to airport We did not give a 5-star rating for the following reasons: -The extremely expensive deposit that is needed if you don't buy insurance is not communicated well on your site or during the booking process... that was a huge surprise to us and wish we would have known this before -We did have some issues with the cars electrical and it forced us to not be able to lock our things that were in the car up at some points.. we had pretty expensive camera gear so this was added stress and did limit how far we were able to hike and travel on some days.

The Dacia Duster was the ideal small 4x4 for the conditions and roads we travelled on whilst in Iceland.

I trusted the reviews online about Northbound and Icerental 4x4 and I did right. The guys were very helpful, the car (dacia duster 4x4) was perfect for the icelandic roads, comfortable and very safe. Everything was perfect. If i could go back to Iceland I will choose them again for sure.

Good service. Car as we expected.

Car was alright and the staff was helpful throughout the pick-up and drop-off process. The only odd bit was that the wipers were a bit old/consumed . I forgot also to check them during the pick-up. Overall good experience and if i will visit Iceland again i will look you up

Cannot fault icerental 4x4. We were met at the airport, driven straight to the office and was in the car and on our way within 15 mins. The guy who handed over the keys advised us to film around the car before we set off the ensure no damage was missed off the the rental agreement. Dropped the car back off around 7:30am, the guy took a quick look round the car using his iPhone torch and we was taken to the airport. We rented a toyota a rav 4 which i feel dealt with some really bad conditions well. The car had winter studded tyres on. The headlights were not great and the wipers could have been better but I guess the blades were frozen most of the time. We purchased additional insurance online from different company beofre we traveled. It cost just £9 so was a massive saving compared to the prices all other rental companies charge and was worth it just for peice of mind.

A great vehicle for driving to the North.

Icerental staff were very friendly and informative. They are very quick to reply to any emails you may have after booking and the vehicle was well maintained and coped with a variety of weather. I would use again.

5 out of 5 for Northbound. We were promptly collected from the airport departures hall. Collection of our vehicle was painless and quick. Our Toyota RAV4 was in perfect condition and a joy to drive. The weather quickly deteriorated after our arrival and the jeep was more than fit for the poor roads. When our rental was over we were brought to the departures hall by Northbound staff who couldn’t have been more pleasant. I will be recommending Northbound to anyone travelling to Iceland and hope to use them again in the future.

The rental car was amazing, very good price, spacious, and the fuel lasted so long. The rental guys gave us so much advice that we didn't know which helped us on our journey. No hidden charges- if you damage the car then you have to pay the price simple as that- but we didn't! The 4x4 was like a dream made our Icelandic experience even more better. We will definitely rent from these guys again. Oh and the portable wifi was GREAT!!
