Great car, great people and great service!

The service was excellent, I had an Hyundai which performed well until the heavy snow when it briefly went into 2 wheel drive but it was a nice clean vehicle

Car was very good, previous damage properly recorded on file. We had to depart from Keflavik Airport at a very early hour and were allowed to drop the car at the airport rather than at the rental place (and then finding our own shuttle service to the airport), which was very kind.

Lava reps were all courteous. Rental car was in excellent shape and most importantly, there was no issue on returning the rental car. We were driven to the airport right away for our flight. Very happy with the rental experience.

Lava Auto Car Rental were absolutely fantastic. Upon arrival at the airport when we had landed, we gave their offices a call and explained we were at the airport half an hour early due to our flight coming in early. They said they would be there in five minutes- and they were. The transportation to their rental office was clean, the journey was no longer than five minutes (so to drop your car back off, it is five minutes away from the airport, very convenient!) and their office was very modern and we were pleasantly surprised. We were asking for directions to tourist attractions and they were extremely helpful and we found the whole experience stress free. There really is no catch with Lava (Booked through Northbound online). The cheap prices aren't too good to be true: they simply offer cars in fantastic condition (ours was in mint condition with a sat nav built in- ideal for the golden circle etc). We recommended to friends of ours who were flying out the weekend after. They were impressed too and came across no problems. Lava also drop you off at the airport when you return your rental car- what more can you ask for. No hidden fees held on your card either (in the past we have had £1000 held in case of damage to the car which dipped into our spends for the trip) Lava do not hold any kind of damage cost on your card. They are exactly what you would hope for from a Rental company. Reliable, professional and honest. Very happy and would never use anybody else on our return to Iceland in the future. Thanks Lava! Swift, personable and easy. Very welcoming. Stationed near to the airport. As an independent company they were also highly competitive. They see you as a person not a commodity. Excellent service and will use again!

I was a wonderful service. From being met straight away at arrivals and a short journey to the car storage. Great advice on how to take car on Icelandic roads and the tip to open the car door with both hands as we arrived in a bad storm with 30 plus mph winds. The car was just right and we would have been lost without the sat nav. And the snow tyres gave me much confidence. Even when we dropped off the car your staff saw us (as he was just about to leave with other customers) and waited to take us to the airport. All round an excellent service and we will use you again when we return which should be in the summer this time.

In general nothing to complain about. Friendly, punctual stuff. The car was clean and ready to use. During our trip all across the ring road we did not encounter any problems with the car. All in all a good company to choose for renting a car.

Hi, all was fine, flight was delayed 3 hour, short call and the nice people from Lava Car picked us up. Car was like expected, clean no issues and we get also free Water. Next Time we book again with you Guys. Best regards, Bernd

I rented a Dacia Duster for 10 days. The check-in was easy as was the check out. The staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. Plus, their prices were great and they did not charge for some extras (GPS) as did other companies. Their price to add another driver was MUCH less than other companies were charging. I highly recommend Northbound.

Great, no problems at all. Northbound was easy to use and Lava was good to deal with. Car in good condition.

We did a short 3 night trip to Iceland and booked our Dacia Duster through Lava Auto Car Rental. We were picked up at the terminal without any wait whatsoever (even though another customer was arriving on a different flight from Oslo that already landed). Short transfer to the depot and our vehicle was waiting after going through the rental forms (offered coffee at the office). The Dacia had a couple of marks on it (including a dent in the door that might have happened when a previous customer opened the door in strong Icelandic winds!) but these were all marked on our form. The car itself was fine and probably a good option on icy roads in the middle of winter - it had studded winter tyres. I normally drive a Hyundai Tucson back home and whilst it wasn't quite as refined (nor as powerful) it was well suited to the Iceland roads and had heated seats and on board computer and sat nav. Would definitely use Northbound again as opposed to say Avis - much better and more of a personal service. Thanks

We never made it to Iceland. We are re-scheduled for May,1,2,3,4.Our pipes froze and we did not dare leave the house. Our friends took over the car lease and said it worked well.

Very good experience, met at airport and a 5 minute drive to Lava Cars, car as booked and all information explained and advice given on weather, driving conditions and petrol stations. Drop off very easy and couldn't fault this rental or Lava Cars

Everything went smoothly. From picking us up at the airport to returning the car and getting a lift back too :) Everyone was very helpful and friendly.

Great experience!! A representative from LAVA Auto met us at the airport and drove us the short distance to their offsite office. The car was very similar to what I wanted to rent (small SUV but because it was a Hyundai instead of a Toyota SUV they gave me GPS for free!) and was in excellent condition. The office staff were friendly and efficient and answered all of our questions. When it was time to leave, we dropped the car off at Lava and a staff member took us immediately to the airport. Would definitely rent from them again in the future!

Very obliging and helpful services. Transport between office and airport is fast. A welcome coffee is included.
