Nordic Car Rental in Iceland

Really Good

It was easy to solve my issue with changing the person to pick up the car. My flight was canceled so I was not able to come on time to pick up the car. But it was easy to arrange everything

Everything was great from start to finish with Northbound. The customer service was very nice and they were helpful. I had asked for pick up and drop off at my hotel, not knowing were everything was. The day before I was to arrived they called and said it was like a five minute walk to get there and that they would refund me the cost of I would prefer to pick it up, which I thought a great. The car handled well, was clean and in great shape. If we ever go back again I would definitely use them again.

We had a Suzuki Jimmy and the car was good. It brought us everywhere we wanted to go. We also extented the rent for 4 days and that was no problem. Overall good service and i would rent a car by you again when i visite iceland

Car was fine - no frills but it did the job The downside was that we had to wait for an hour at the airport for a pick up. One reason for this was that we were looking for the driver with Northbound in his sign . His sign did not have northbound on it and it was then only once we looked at the paperwork in more detail that it was apparent the northbound is part of Nordic car rental. We rang twice asking when we would be picked up and the reply was not very friendly or helpful Do this is something that detracted from our experience

The Suzuki Jimny is a very capable little car - Staff here are great, minimal fuss - make sure if you don't know about 2wd, hi and low 4wd ratios get staff to demo this feature to stop you getting stuck in snow, great company will use again without a second thought, may even upgrade to a camper as would love to see iceland in the summertime Regards OLLY (UK)

Really good service, we get the perfect car to explore absolutely every place in Iceland, few problems with the Bluetooth radio but it was entirely the fault of the cold!! The car has no one problems and the get back to the airport was very quick, I reccomand you to go on this company!!

Perfect car for a 3 people journey, very confortable and easy to drive on every kind of road

Car rental was exactly as described. Staff picked us up and they were very friendly. Price was much better than others in the area. Would definitely recommend.

The experience was great. We were picked up at the airport and taken to the rental facility. The staff were always friendly and helpful. We got our vehicle in short order, and never had any trouble for the 10 days we had it. It was a little bit older of a vehicle, but that was what we asked for to get a little better price. All in all it worked out perfectly for us.

First vehicle did not work. Second vehicle also had problems. Then tried to charge me for a broken windshield that was there when I got it. Shuttle driver almost made me miss my flight. The price mostly makes up for the hassles though.

The car was great. The rental process was a bit sketchy. My flight landed at 7 am so obviously it was still dark when I arrived to the rental office. I was given a flashlight, led to the car, and told to look for any damage. Then the agent left me there and went back to the office to assist other customers. There were quite a few of us. I did my best to find already existing damage to the car and mark them on the contract. I did miss one chip on the windshield that I only noticed after I left the office and the Sun came up. I called the office, they told me to take a picture of it. When I returned the car a week later, I reminded them about the chip on the windshield. The didn't really react and of course there were no amendments to the contract noting the extra damage. An agent checked the car and drove off 30 seconds later, and from what I could tell by business with Nordic Car Rental was concluded. There were no additional documents to sign which I found somewhat surprising. They dropped us off at the airport. Don't get me wrong, if this is where we leave things then I am happy customer. I am surprised I didn't sign any papers upon return but, if our business with Nordic Car Rental remains concluded then what do I care if there were no written forms to complete. But I can only speak from a customer's standpoint, I don't know how the typical checkout/rental process goes from the renter's standpoint. So I guess, for now, my rating is 5/5. Let's hope I don't get a surprise call a month from now concerning some damage that I didn't cause that would change that fact. Aside from what I described above, the rental process, the office, and the car was great. Your website is also great, I would definitely use Northbound again if I were to return to Iceland and search for more rentals.

The Guy who picks us from the airport was very kind and give us some useful information to drive in Iceland. When we arrive at the office we had to check the car and we notice and took photos of everything we could notice without driving the car. When we take the car to went home we could notice that the car had 260.000km , the steering wheel was pointing right when the car was going straight.... the doors were crooked and the water for cleaning the windscreen was empty (after that we fill it every morning and after 2 times it was empty again)... we actually didn't have the time to change the car.. we call to the office the same night and the guy told us that if the car was going straight there would be no risk and that we wouldn't have problems with you... so we decided to take th car and go for our trip. It was a little bit hard but we do it... maybe someone else not;)

Overall it was very good and did the job - but I would highly recommend you state your advice on your website eg let customers know it may not be the best choice for certain times of year like wind related we suffered quite a bit. I’d also recommend explaining a quick talk through with customers over the controls of the car not just hand them keys and send them on their way- we didn’t even know the car changed from 4WD to 2WD. But other than that, very happy!

Work perfectly Good price

Everything was as promised. The van was nothing fancy and in need of some cosmetic repairs but the price was right and it served our purpose. We were happy with the choice. Office staff were excellent with no high pressure for extras. Would rent from here again.

The people who wprk for northbound are very frindly and helpfull. This make the difference and is the reason I eill rent a car with you again in other opportunities. The car worked very well and helped me a lot to drive in the iceland roads.

Right from the pickup at the airport everything was smooth and easy. On our 3rd day the car Was making a funny noise and we were hours away from the car rental. We called and within 10minutes a mechanic showed up to look at it. I was very impressed! The car had problems so they sent out a replacement. It was there in just over and hour! That’s incredible service and would definitely use them again and again!

Renting from Nordic Car Rental was a great experience! They came and picked us up and dropped us off at the airport. The rental was affordable and worked well the entire trip. The employees were very accommodating. Thank you!

It was great, great tyres that had loads of grip in compact snow and ice. An all round feel safe car.
