Very bad experience. We had to wait an additional day for the camper, they obliged us to be at 5 am the day after to get the camper (they didn't accept to keep it for us until midday) and the camper didn't have a heater system, as it was booked.

Terrible customer service, and they try to get as much money out of me as possible. The van was fine, but for what I paid in the end, I could have rented another from another company. I was forced to pay the full insurance € 700 and a cleaning fee, since they said that I had smoked in the car, of € 300. I feel cheated, and so I will let it be known in all the places that I can publish it.

Vehicle was in very unsafe condition (practically bald tires, no working horn, check engine light on, hub cap rolled off while driving on the road and revealed a huge dent underneath). Front desk staff were belittling, incompetent, and inappropriately aggressive. By far the worst rental experience I've ever had. I'm going to actively discourage northbound to anyone interested in renting a vehicle in Iceland if this is the type of company they let on their service.

The car company which rented us the Dokker Camper Van was not "Wild Campers" as we'd expected but a Company called "FairCar Keflavik". On our arrival the car was not available and we had to wait up to three hours until we got an alternative car which they told us was an "upgrade". After sleeping one night in the alternative van we realized how old and in which bad condition the car really was (central lock broken, heating didn't work, very slow acceleration and warning light flashing constantly)-. That led us bringing the car back - at least they changed the van again without complaint and we finally got the car we booked. Wouldn't recommend the company anyway, because we heard stories that other people had more problems with them.

Dacia Dokker drom Wild Campers was a great camper, we enjoyed it. Had a few problems with webasto heating sistem, but I am sure the guys fixed it immediately. The customer support was excellent. We felt really safe during travelling, knowing there is always someone to help, since the service is working for 24/7. The price were almost the best we could fine for what we were looking for. They also have a great and a fast sitem of transporting to/from the airport. Workers are really friendly and they will help you with everything.

Hi, trip in Iceland was unforgettable. We enjoyd every moment even the rainy days! Pick up from the airport was good and we foud the driver afterall. We we arrived to the office and it was quite busy. But the quoue went fast. We got our car and when we started to drive it we noticed that the light on sings in the meter panel didnt work at all. We couldnt see how much there were gasoline or the blinker indikator didnt work. After that we drove the car back to the office and the office worker gave us another car which was ok. When we went througn the papers it was quite messy. There was a little lack of information becouse our first car was a diesel car as the office worker said and the second one was regular 95 gasoline which the office worker didnt say to us. i had to confirm that from the emergeny number before i filled the tank. But after all it was nice trip and the second car was good. Thank You!

Very nice experience, price was quite cheap for such good equipment : beds, pillows, blanket, camping table, chairs and stuff to cook ! Honnestly the best way to travel in iceland for me !

Dear Nordic Campers and Wild Campers, I’m writing you because I rented a Nordic Campers camper van through the website Wild Campers, and the experience was not fulfilling. My girlfriend and I rented a Dacia Dokker with a bed and a stove, and we expected, as your website proclaimed, that the car was equipped with a heating system, to warm up the nights. as we found out, this heating system was not at all installed, and we ended up spending most nights freezing. Furthermore, as we came to pick up the car at the arranged hour, we were met with a car that first had to be prepared with curtains and a mattress, a door that could not be locked, and after driving away almost content, the car started smoking from the rear end and it would not accelerate as it should. Therefore, once more, we returned to the office in Keflavik, and were told to just drive off (from there, the car worked fine). Added up, it took us three and a half hours, from our scheduled pick-up at 10am until 1.30pm to drive away in a functioning car. As we talked to a person in a suit from the backoffice, we were met with no understanding of our wasted time. All in all, the renting of your car at Keflavik was not fulfilling, and we ask of you an offer of refund. We rented the car from the 14th of August (pick-up at 10am) and returned it on the 20th of August (hand-in at 5pm). Best regards, Rasmus Møberg Larsen & Frida Malin Mundbjerg

They advertise they would pick us up from the airport however they were not there when we arrived and we had to call them to get them to show up. When we got to the rental agency we had to wait in the waiting area for over an hour. Mechanically the car was reliable and didn’t give us any problems. The “camper” was a converted station wagon and had insufficient sleeping space in the back for anybody over the height of 5’6, there was much less space than was indicated in their advertising pictures. The rear and side doors were broken and not openable from the inside (which is probably dangerous) we had to climb through the front seat to exit the vehicle in the mornings. We would not recommend anybody to rent from wild campers, Nordic campers or city car rental. (They are all the same company)

I had mixed experience with this rental. On the good side, the car was good enough and and the mechanics were in good shape that allowed a smooth 2200km around Iceland. The inner space of the van (sleeping area) was enough for 2 people, but only after reducing the passenger seat to a minimum, and folding them towards the front. This was a cleaver system to enhance in about 30 cm the sleeping area, a must if you are 1,8m height. The Abestos heating system (for the night) was also very usefull and worked properly. Camping gear was in good shape. However, I also found some negative aspects with the rental. The first was related to the regular heating system of the car; the switch that controls the flow of the warm air was broken and was fixed to the front window. Due the the low temperatures and heavy wind, we had our feet constantly very cold and without any means to warm them up. A simply fix would solve this, but they gave us a car with this problem. The second was related to the insurance exceptions; there are so many exceptions that basically the CDW or superCDW only covers a direct frontal impact, since they have so many exclusions that it's hard to find a situation where indeed the insurance will cover any damage done in other circumstance. If you rent from this company, please be aware of the damages that blowing wind can do on the car doors; none is covered by insurance and small dents can cost you a lot of money.

It was a good car, running smoothly, with a few minor flaws. The tyres were already quite worn down. The camping kitchen equipment was partly broken: The stove was lacking the valve, some of the plates were broken. A yellow warning sign was on all the time, apparently without significance, as I was told by the Wild Campers staff.

The Dokker was really suitable for a week in the Westfjords. The Overnight-Heatingsystem was great, the fuel consumption was low and there was enough space, even for two people. To bad, the side slide door could not be opened from the inside. Most of the time, I had to climb to the front seats, to get out of the car in the morning.

Great service from start to end (including pickup and drop from/to airport service charged). Very satisfied and recommend strongly for those looking for such adventure we really enjoyed with dacia customised van fit for purpose. Thanks to have honoured the contract by allowing us to discover Iceland / WestFiord in 10days with the freedom of having a campervan. All necessary items were on board of the vehicle to please us among the wild and marvelleous environment. Very lucky with charming and dry weather all along the journey. I am sure your service at actual reasonable price will make many more happy campers. Few personal suggestion if considered as room of improvement: a) the photocopy of the credit card both sides was frightening/scaring us at the pick-up desk even if we understood you experienced real troubles with bad customers in the past. It should be possible to keep only a print (engravement of the front part of the card only rather than risking the papercopy ends up in wrong hand) b) staff was surprised we asked them to provide a statement/signature to confirm we returned the vehicle that day and all was ok. All went well as they were finally pleased to do it but it seems that it was not common practice.
