Everithing ok.

First time ever everything went smoothly and nice. From easy booking to getting the exact booked car ( no "or similar"). Land Cruiser was handed to us in neatly condition and served us well all the time of the rent. No issues whatsoever, plus all the information on help and support were provided on the pickup day anyway. It was overall pleasant experience.

Very good vehicle, brand new car (9.000km) it smells like new, super comfy, lots of extras, for sleeping perfect, I WILL RECOMMEND 200% We did the whole island with it and went really really good! We are super happy with the car!

[ ] Vehicle power cord stopped working the last night we had possession. [  ] Vehicle wheels were muddy when took possession. Had to go back to have them cleaned for proper use of the vehicle [  ] Wifi puck did not hold a charge well and had to constantly be plugged in to operate. Did not operate as advertised. [  ] Vehicle rear outlets were EU plugs only and having power to hull was only good for heat. There was no way to utilize the power for electronics charging at night other than running the vehicle. [  ] Fridge only works with external power. Attempted to use ice as a coolant when not able to plug it in. Since it does not stand up straight while loaded in the vehicle, water leaked out. [  ] No walk through talk through of the vehilce and utilities. Led us to difficulty when trying to figure out the vehicle along the way. Overall, it didnt seem like a very professional system as the vehicle was dropped on us and we did have some troubles, ultimately as a result.

The car was new with a few thousand kilometres, perfect conditions, the trip was smooth and gave no problems.

Pick up from the airport was a bit time consuming, just because I think we missed the shuttle leaving for the rental company by a few minutes, so had to wait another 45mins or so until the shuttle came back and took us on the next trip. The check in went quickly and flawlessly, no issues. Vehicle was clean upon pick up with a full tank. Drop off was just as easy and we were immediately put on a shuttle back to the airport after we signed the paperwork. Thanks for the great service.

The van was fine except for a very serious problem: the electricity didn't work so we couldn't use the heating at night... getting very cold, we had to buy a duvet and we paid for electricity in several campsites for nothing since it didn't work

The car we rented Jeep Compass is trail rated all wheel drive smaller, fuel efficient and good American quality SUV. However, soft Continental tires are too gentle for icelandic f-rated roads. We had to replace one tire on our 2 week long trip. Also, it is a hybrid vehicle with very small 35 l size fuel tank. Hybrid vehicles are not very efficient on highways like route 1 in Iceland. We were risking running out of fuel on daily basis due to lack of gas stations in rural areas. I would suggest buying trail rated cars with larger gas tanks. As another note, during this trip I noticed two small cracks started to develop at the bottom of glass instrument panel. This is not acceptable for trail rated vehicle and should be the manufacturer warranty issue.

Although the car worked well, the service from Konvin Car Rental was not up to expectations. Upon arrival to the airport, we were told there was no shuttle bus at the hour of arrival and that we had to wait more than an hour before being picked up. As our time in Iceland was limited and we had just been on a flight for hours we had to take an expensive taxi to the office. Then when we arrived there, we had to wait more than half an hour before anyone showed up for the car rental service. When we tried to call the phone number provided we were only able to reach someone who seemingly was not able to understand what the problem was (he was friendly, but didn’t speak much English). The lady who attended us was unenthusiastic and lacked interest in helping us out. Once the administration was out of the way, we were given a car that was both dirty on the inside and outside (mud everywhere and trash inside the car). We were also told we were not getting a spare tire but that there was some glue in the car to fix it ourselves. This implied we had to go back to the desk where we had to wait again as nobody was there. Luckily the lady of the hotel was friendly enough to call the people in charge. Once we managed to get another car, we were told the new documents with the correct license plate was going to be sent to us right away. Yet, two weeks later I have still not received anything. Although in the end we managed to get on the road and had no problems from there on, this experience gave us a very unprofessional impression of Konvin Car Rental and made us start our trip with unnecessary stress.

Great car for Icelandic roads. The car company was great. Our flight was delayed twice and we missed our connections twice. But we kept in touch with the car company and they made sure our reservation is changed.
