Lagoon Car Rental in Iceland

The car brought us safely all around Iceland without any issues. Great little car!

Excellent. We were referred to Lagoon Car Rental and were very pleased with them. Having read previous reviews of different companies, we were very nervous about being charged extra when we returned the car. At Lagoon they did a great job of explaining the two primary situations in which someone may be responsible for extra charges: one is in the case of a sand/windstorm which occurs in certain areas at times. By knowing which locations have the risk and checking the weather, it can be avoided. Also, the suggestion to park in the lee of a building should you find yourself in such a situation was helpful. The other problem that can arise in a very strong wind is the door actually being blown backwards crimping the metal and permanently damaging the door. By parking in the wind, this can be prevented. Both good suggestions which made us feel much more easy about renting in Iceland.

We had a free upgrade to a Duster which was good, although it still had its winter tyres on and they couldn't find a car with summer tyres. However, they said that they would pay any fine we might get which was ok. The service was good both collecting and returning the car and we were picked up/dropped off by Lagoon.

The truck ran great and handled the roads well... The tent was awesome! It handled the wind well, definitely exceeded my expectations! My only suggestion is to somehow waterproof the mattress, it was wet a few nights from the rain being blown in from the bottom and sides

A great, easy going experience.

I had a great experience with Lagoon Car Rental. The staff was friendly and was efficient. We spent a total of 20 min in the office from the point of car pick up to car drop off. The free transport to and from the airport was very conivient.

Arrived early in the morning to a rainy and gloomy welcome c/o mother nature. However, agent from Lagoon car rental was super pleasant and happy and provided amazing service to rental location. There were quite a number of us but the friendly agent at Lagoon helped me get setup with the car very quickly. Car was clean and in great condition. From exiting the airport to driving off in the rental took less than 30 minutes! Amazing service. Returning the car was a breeze as well. A different Lagoon agent got all the return paper work sorted out in minutes and gave me a ride to the airport withing 10 minutes of arriving at Lagoon. Awesome experience and would 100% use them and recommend them to anyone!

Lagoon Car rental was amazing! We rented a Hyundai and set off. The windshield wipers didn't work properly so we turned around and went back. They gave us a Kia, and threw in our cooler for free. The car was fantastic. We also rented the internet with the car which I highly recommend. (we were always able to get directions- even when hiking!) . At the end of our trip the gas tank stopped opening. We went back with a half tank of gas rather than the expected full tank. They didn't charge us anything extra. Their customer service was the best!

We had a good experience with lagoon car rental. The personnel was friendly and answered any questions we had. only downside was the waiting time when we picked up our car, seeing three cars were being rented for the people in our shutttle, and 2 poeple from lagoon were present. The y did apologize for the delay, and helped us in a good manner afterwards, so no issues there.

My girlfriend and I travelled to Iceland in early May. Our experience with Lagoon Car Rental was excellent. Right when we came to the arrival hall a representative was there to greet us immediately. Filling out the paperwork did not take long at all, and we were upgraded to a Kia Sportage for free. The car was excellent, we travelled over 1600 miles throughout Iceland without any concerns at all about the reliability of the vehicle. Lagoon Car Rental also provided us with a fuel chip and a map of where all the Olis gas stations were located for free, which was very helpful and a nice touch. At the end of our trip, returning the car did not take long at all and shortly after checkout a shuttle took us back to the airport. We hope to return to Iceland someday and if we do, we will definitely use Lagoon Car Rental again! Booking through Northbound was a very easy process as well, and it was more convenient for us since they accept more credit cards.

Everything was great!

Lagoon rental was a good choice - very good contact, good car and great customer service. They gave us a lift to the hotel after we returned the car - the guy actually insisting on bringing us to the hotel door! We will definitely go to them again!

Lagoon was great! The car was perfect for getting around town and road tripping through rain and snow. We never had an issue and felt secure wherever we went. The guys at the rental place were all nice as well. Would use them again.

Our car from Lagoon Car Rental was great! We originally rented a Hyundai, but were given a Kia of comparable size, stated 4 passengers and 3 bags available. The trunk only fit two of our bags, but since we only had 3 passengers we were able to put one bag in the back seat. Aside from it being a little less roomy, the car was given to us in very clean condition and worked great for the kind of driving we were doing! Kia's are a bit closer to the ground than Hyundai's, so certain gravel roads made me a bit nervous. Other than that it was a good car - just not the correct one!
