Lagoon Car Rental in Iceland

Overall, excellent. Although the wait at KEF was about 20 min, everything else worked out very well. Great car with a/c and backup camera. Excellent mileage although I did not get the discount on the diesel fuel. The GPS was priced very high.

We loved our caddy camper. The bed, duvets, and pillows were especially comfortable. The side pockets great for organizing gear, and there was just enough space for our cooler, chairs, table, two duffels, and daypacks. The tent was a welcome kitchen when it was drippy and windy. However, the promised stakes were not included, and we had to take it down at 3AM one morning when high winds blew the table and chairs down that had been holding it in place. It was also very easy to drive.

Great experience - excellent service. We even had a broken (flat) and they were quickly their to help. Our rental was for five - we used it in the city and to tour the Golden Circle. The rental is a quick 3 minutes off-site and they are at the airport to pick you up.

Great! Friendly people. We got a great Mitsubishi Outlander (instead of a Volkswagen). Everything fitted perfectly and it was a pleasant ride for the four of us. Thanks!

The car was most satisfactory, although it came to us with an underinflated tyre - it took us a while to find somewhere to put air in this tyre. The engine also ran a bit roughly when it was cold - could be a spark plug problem. When we arrived at the airport there was no representative from Lagoon to meet us and when one did eventually turn up it wasn't for us but as I had the booking information he took us back to the rental place. We discovered that our booking had been cancelled, fortunately they found it again! It took a little while to get the rental completed as the office seemed to be rather under-manned, just the person who picked us up. The pick up person didn't bother to assist us with loading our cases into the van just opened the back and then went and sat waiting in the driver's seat for us to get in. He was a pleasant young man. Once we got to the rental place - he just got out of the van and left - we therefore assumed that we had arrived. So, no points for helpfulness there! Your staff could perhaps do with a bit of training about how to interact with members of the public. All hiring details were carefully explained - as was the enormous cost of insurance!! This cost therefore increased the car rental - perhaps you should put the special insurance details required in Iceland up front - it is not usual in other countries that renters need to take out windscreen damage, tyre damage, chip damage and wind damage to paintwork!!! All round I think your staff could do with working on your public relations skills, but once you actually spoke to a person they were very helpful!

General experience was good, car (Kia Sportage) was larger than Golf and all wheel drive, quite clean with few little damages outside.

Very easy! Our rental agent was very helpful and quick with paperwork to get us on our way! The airport shuttle service was very convenient and the car was perfect for our travel needs!

The service was excellent, we had the pleasure to be upgraded on our journey, which really made our trip easier, safer and more confortable. The fact that the team is working around the clock is a great feature too. We only had some wait at the airport when we arrived, so I guess my only advice would be to send an automatic reply when the service is a bit busy, just to reassure the client waiting at the Arrival Hall. Great service overall, all the best for the future. We'll look for you when we'll come back in Iceland.

Lagoon is a very good car rental service. People where very helpfull. No problem to keep the car some hours longer. Also had to choice in color of the car we got. Costumer service was fast to reply to emails i send. Airport transfer without a problem. Would definitely rent again

The car was great, no problems. The shuttle bus to and from the airport was fast and the employees were polite and friendly.

Lagoon car rental gets 5 stars for their customer service and for dropping off a replacement vehicle 5 hours away from Reykjavik. Our trouble started when Nissan Qashqai was substituted with a "similar" Renault Kadjar. No Qashqai's were available and we were offered to come back in 3 days if we wanted one. Kadjar was long in the tooth, with 84K KM on the odo. We decided to keep it for our entire 2 week journey. Unfortunately, the Kadjar gave up on us up North, near Akureyri. We were very lucky it did not happen while moving through the less-inhabited East part of the country or on our way to the airport. We requested a replacement vehicle and were offered a Duster to be sent right away or wait a couple extra hours for a similar or better car. We chose the latter and Lagoon delivered us a Kia Sportage with 25K KM mileage. Our woes were over at that point. Kia performed surprisingly well and proved to be a much better cruiser than the original Kadjar.

We had a good experience with Lagoon. Pick up and drop off at the airport were both efficient and friendly. The paperwork went quickly and the car was the perfect size for our needs. Liam was very helpful in advising us on the right car for our trip.

Vehicle was well equipped, heated steering wheel, heated seats, Bluetooth and usb, lane departure warning, etc.. Check in process with Lagoon was very smooth Northbound customer service was very prompt.

Lagoon car rental were great. The car was perfect for our 2500km trip with great fuel economy. It was brilliant value for money and the I would highly recommend the wifi option. The car could possibly have been a bit cleaner inside around the doors but it is Iceland where it gets dirty straight away any way!

The vehicule was a bit dirty, the gps didn’t work completly (it couldn’t find the adresses we were looking so that we always had to use our cell-phone as a gps) and there was a small direction-problem with the car...otherwise we have nothing to complain about lagoon car rental

Our experience with Lagoon Car Rental was excellent. They were at the airport when we arrived and took us to the offsite office. The paperwork was very upfront and they did not pressure us to purchase additional insurance that we did not want. The car was exactly what was promised to us. The pick up and drop off was very prompt. I believe the gentleman that helped us was Sebastian and we was extremely helpful with all our questions. I would use Lagoon again for my Iceland car rental needs.

It was ok. We were the last people waiting in arrivals for our shuttle bus - about 40 mins - had to phone them. Driver seemed a bit unfriendly. Paperwork efficient but no maps of Iceland available - not great for a car hire company. Car was ok - bit bashed and first gear a bit sticky. Staff at drop off were nice and friendly.
