Lava Car Rental in Iceland

It was a great car and we'll speed. the service at Lava was excellent. My only criticism is the map for where to meet the pickup from the airport was ambiguous and they should have had a vehicle which was sign written so we knew where to get our pickup. As it was we had to phone them twice and ask dozens of drivers if they where from lava. Apart from that excellent experience

Everything was great! Customer service and our car were amazing! I could not have completed my amazing Iceland trip without this company. Thanks for helping make my first experience in Iceland as great as it was!

Staff members were really nice and polite. Think I had a upgrade as I did not get the Dacia Duster but received a Mitsubishi 4x4 thought the whole experience was really smooth and professional thank you

All went fine with Lava Rental Car. When we arrived they upgraded our selected car to a Mitsubishi Cross Eclipse (4WD, Hybrid-Electric, automatic gears) without any additional charge. The car performed well, and the return process and shuttle service was efficient/quick. Only bit of concern on our side was that no return receipt was provided at the exact time of return, and instead we've just received it a couple hours ago (they advised a day of delay for that). While this might not be a problem for us, and in our case it caused no trouble, the 24 hour gap could be a source of issues and disputes in case Lava Rental decides to charge customers that did not book the Full Insurance. Our experience is that the correct approach would be to deliver a receipt at the time of return, just in case! In any case, it's just a small detail on an otherwise good service provided by the company. Hope that feedback is useful for you!

We did not receive the car advertised. We received a Mitsubishi that had no front license plate and was terribly out of balance. We were not told about the tolls and then were charged a fine upon return.

We ordered a Dacia and get a better Hyundai, the Service To get the car was good. All relevant Infos were sent before.

Wir hatten mit drei Mitarbeitern zu tun, einer war sehr freundlich, die anderen beiden nicht. Das Auto war super, allerdings war der Scheibenwischen defekt, was heißt auf der Fahrerscheite schmierte er. So was sollte in einem Land wie Island, bei dem immer mit Regen zu rechnen ist, vorher getauscht werden. Die Fußmatten waren extrem rutschig, sogar gefährlich beim einsteigen.

We reserved a Vitara, but the car wasn't quite ready when we arrived. Soon after, we were given an Eclipse Cross PHEV, an upgrade for no additional charge. Staff was very nice, and the car ran great for our 11 day trip. The one thing that was missing was an explanation on how to charge the hybrid - I never had one before, and didn't try it on the road. I was very happy with the ride and handling, and got better gas mileage that I expected for an AWD. Check in was very smooth. Overall very happy with our choice.
