Lagoon Car Rental in Iceland

Could not have been more pleased with every aspect of our experience! Right down to covering a big mistake in timing on my end! Highly recommend!!

First let me discuss Northbound. Great website: love how user friendly it is and how it listed all the rental options with their prices, insurance types offered, etc. Also love the live support - they were very helpful. They provided comprehensive information on the rental. Just loved the experience using this site - highly recommend it. Lagoon: awesome rental company. They're a smaller company, but offer more competitive pricing than any of the main vendors out there (e.g. Avis, Budget). Their cars are well maintained, they provide friendly and courteous customer service, were able to pick us up from the airport at the agreed upon time, short wait times to receive and drop off the car rental, etc. Overall, amazing experience and having rented from numerous car rental agencies around the world, I'd recommend Lagoon over the others for Iceland.

Hello, We had a great experience with Lagoon Car. On time pick up from the airport and a very quick drop off back to the airport. Picking up the car wasn't an issue, the customer service were pleasant and friendly. I would definitely recommend your services.

The car was as advertised. The staff were helpful and very detialed regarding existing damage, if any, to the car before it was taken out. I strongly recommend taking the full car coverage and taking pictures of the car before leaving with it and before returning it. Be aware that to American all Iceland cars are smaller, stick shift, and deisel. The mileage per liter is excellent but fuel is about 3 times higher than the USA's. We opted out of the GPS options since we used a Hot Spot device that left the car when needed. Over all, the car rental experience was excellent.

Our experience with Lagoon car rentals was fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had very little time to get back to the airport at the end of our trip but they where very efficent when we returned oir car and drove us immediately to the airport after. The car we rented was perfect for our trip and brought us everywhere we wanted to go. Not to mention beeing mone of the most affordable car rentals I have ever had.

Lagoon Car Rental were very professional, efficient and friendly. There was little wait time between pick up and drop off. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

We got a Dustia Duster with a flat tire that has been Repair with pins. It wasn't safe and the owner of our cabin saw that and connected you so you'll change our jeep to another one. It wasted our time so our experience wasn't that nice. We paid our best money and didn't expected to get a jeep in this condition. Beyond that the shuttle was good and everyone were very nice.

Top quality experience. Airport pick up was easy. Lagoon rep was located inside the airport and very easy to find. Short ride in a nice van to car. Line to pick up car was short. Car was very good. Inspection and damage report are extremely thorough. Take you own pictures of the car from all sides and angles. Mark even the smallest ding / chip / scratch. Return process was simple and efficient. I did not opt for any insurance (and deny their included insurance if you wish to use coverage via a visa credit card). Rep inspected car on return again thoroughly. I did not damage the car in anyway and they did not try to charge me for any non-existent damage. Ride to the airport was again fast. Excellent rental company and 100% would recommend.

The company is ran well with great customer service. Friendly staff with a can do attitude! The time waiting on someone to pick us up at the airport to bring us to the rental was made up with the quick paperwork! We were on our way to see the beautiful country in no time!

Hi Runar Thor, Thanks for the car. I had a great time in Iceland. I was given Kia Sorento when I first arrived. The car condition was dusty. I would say ok to drive. But dusty. Upon leaving your place, I drove to kirjufell and found out that one of the head lamp was not working. Come on...are you kidding me? No checking before handing over the keys to me? I was far away from town. I have no choice but to continue my journey as I have tight schedule for the next 7 days. Thankfully. My family and I manage to reduce night driving aa much as we can. I was disappointed with that. Other than that, the car was all good. Your staff service was good during collection and return. I hope to come back again and wish to see you grow your company succesfully and as strong as other big brands. All the best.

The team of lagoon car rental was very helpful for our trip through Iceland. They provided all necessary information and we did not run into any problems. I would recommend them.

The car was fine although alot of superficial damage on the car body. But car plate missing was a bit weird. Waited for almost 30minutes at the arrival hall for the person to send us to the rental office. Then another 30minutes getting keys. If time can be reduce from pick up to getting keys then it would have been perfect.

We had a few hiccups, as the car only had 1/4 of tank of gas when we started out, and the GPS decided to black out on several occasions, but Lagoon Car Rental was totally responsive and we had no complaints. Things happen, it is how the company reacts that makes the difference. Would use them again without question.

The vehicle was in excellent shape and very clean. The staff at check-in at Lagoon, Alexandra and Sebastian were helpful. The TDI Caddy got good mileage and was quite powerful. Unfortunately there were no Wifi Hotspot devices available at Lagoon Car Rental when I arrived. This was very disappointing, I was unable to locate any other rental locations for the Hotspot device. Lagoon Car rental directed me back to the airport to try and rent a device. However, the kiosk at the airport where devices can be rented at the Dunkin Donuts was not working. Therefore, I was without wifi during my entire trip except when I could find a wifi spot at a cafe or gas station. I highly recommend that you emphasize that wifi devices should be reserved in advance due to the limited availability. Also, campgrounds were extremely crowded which detracts from the camping experience. Iceland needs to build more campgrounds with individual parking spaces with picnic tables at each site.

Renting from Lagoon was a little frustrating at first - they got us our van almost four hours late during which time they couldn’t give us a clear answer about where the van actually was and why it wasn’t ready. However once the van did show up they were gracious and gave us a full days refund on the rental. Overall they were nice people to work with if a bit disorganized. The van itself was great!

We had a very positive experience with Northbound. I selected this company not only because the prices were very competitive, but the reviews I found online were all highly positive. The customer service experience was great and our car was extremely reliable, which was necessary considering we used the vehicle to complete a ten day road trip around the country. I would recommend this company to anyone looking to drive about Iceland.

The staff member who conducted our check in was very friendly and patient while we inspected the car and asked questions. He did a thorough walkthrough of driving rules in Iceland and our selected insurance policies. They were, however, understaffed but we were very happy with the service. The camper van was in great condition and a wonderful choice for our trip. It was very spacious, easy to handle, and got great mileage on a diesel tank. It wasn't very clean when we received it, though it had only just been returned late by the previous renters (engine was even still warm). We also very much liked that the van was non-descript white, unlike all the other rental agencies which plaster their ads and branding all over the camper vans. Return of the car was quick and there were no issues despite the fact that a small rubber piece had fallen off the undercarriage during our trip. They also didn't charge for any tiny damages to the paint job from pebbles (very common in Iceland!). I would absolutely rent from this agency again!

Car was fine, people pleasant. Just two comments - Lagoon was hard to find, both in Reykjavik and Keflavik. Google took us to the location, but few signs for the actual office. Second, at Keflavik we were expecting a ride to our nearby hotel (Base hotel) but were told it wasn't in Keflavik. Ok technically true, but almost everyone renting would have expected that the "lift to hotel" would have included it - as did another couple there at the same time as us! Fortunately, one of the staff in the office took pity on us and did drive us both to the hotel - thus saving what would have been a very bad review from both of us on Trip Advisor! I suggest that you either include all nearby hotels or make it clear that you don't actually include what are indeed the most popular ones.

Sehr guter Preis, sehr komfortables Auto. Die Übergabe und Rückgabe gingen sehr schnell. Noch besser wäre es, wenn die Mitarbeiter der Autovermietung mir die Funktionen erklärt hätten. Aber ich habe vieles selbst herausgefunden. Jederzeit gerne wieder.

We absolutely loved our experience with Lagoon Car Rental! I Could not rate it highly enough! The vehicle we hired was just as it looked on the website it was in very good condition. All the staff where very helpful, fast to respond to emails and Enquiry’s and very helpful with other information about our travels.
