Lagoon Car Rental in Iceland

Renting from Lagoon was a great experience! After a lot of comparison shopping, it still took a bit of a leap of faith not using a larger company with familiar name recognition, but it was definitely worth it. The rates were the best, which is why I selected Lagoon, but I was surprised at how easy and seamless the entire process was. From the online booking, being greeted at the airport, and the checkout and return process were all perfect. Nobody tried to up-sell me on a million options, the car was in great shape, and performed amazing in the snow. The only hiccup was the contract said the car had a full tank of gas, but it was a while after I drove off that I realized it was only 1/4 full. I called and they trusted me and updated the contract no problem.

Perfect ! Everything was as planned : someone at the airport to drive us to our car, rapid delivery of the Renault Trafic and ok for the return. We were 7 adults wwith our luggages and were able to visit all spots.

Was great. Friendly staff, good service, good little car. Will use Lagoon again when renting.

Great car with no real issues!

Our “upgraded” 4x4 was very rough and sounded like it was going to fall apart anytime we hit any sort of bump or pothole which is a lot in Iceland). Tons of safety warnings going off and we were told that’s because they do their own maintenance and don’t reset them. Pickup was fantastic. After dropping off the car after a week the shuttle vans were absolutely disgusting, we sat on our bags to avoid sitting in the dirty seat. But eh, that’s life!

We choose to rent a Subaru Forester as we know it is one of the best cars for driving in various weather conditions, as we expected in Iceland. The 4WD car was a great base for us as we drove through the half of your country, in heavy wind and snow over the mountains, icy roads and roads of various conditions. We would definity choose this car again, it made us feel safe. We are used to drive in snow, as we live in the north of Norway, and know theese cars are the best in winter.

The staff was all very friendly, helpful, and courteous and the rental car was perfect for our needs! Great experience.

Rental car was satisfactory but pick up at the airport was almost an hour late. I would not recommend using Lagoon for this reason. The staff were apologetic, said they were very busy. They need to hire enough staff to accommodate airport pick-ups.

I liked the dacia, but it was a little bit old and the wipers are broken and some parts of the car bodywork too, the engine was perfect.

Great experience with Lagoon Car Rental. Trustworthy, no wasted time or money. Straightforward and helpful. Car was in perfect condition and a pleasure to drive. Felt very safe on icy roads and less than ideal conditions. Saw other cars have issues but we had none! Mainly chose this company because they do not charge the absurd amount of deposit required by many other companies! Read the fine lines.

They treated us right and there was no unexpected taxes. But when we got stucked in a blizzard they didn't help us at all, we had to get out by ourselves.

I booked a 7 seater 4x4 Kia Sorento from Lagoon Car Rental with Northbound. Their prices were far and away the cheapest of every option I could find and the check in process was seamless. The car was exactly as described and felt like brand new. Highly recommend Northbound and Lagoon for any trip to Iceland especially if you want a large four wheel drive car (and for the most part in Iceland you do).
