Lagoon Car Rental in Iceland

I had a great experience renting a VW camper van from Lagoon! People were extremely friendly and helpful, and we loved the diesel van - good gas mileage and plenty of pep. We'll def be using Lagoon for our next Iceland adventure

Pleasant and hassle free.

Overall the experience was alright. The Renault Kadjar we were upgraded to drives well. The only issues we had were a popped tire (which happens out there) and we were able to replace it with the spare, then drive to the nearest mechanic for repair. My travel partner and I didn't think the car we were upgraded to was truly "F-road" ready though as advertised since many locals discouraged us from attempting certain routes with our car. The key card for the vehicle also died with a low battery unexpectedly leaving us unable to start the car. We trekked a few kilometers to a nearby gas station which fortunately carried a replacement battery for the key. And lastly, the Dacia that we were later upgraded from doesn't come with GPS which is why we ordered one as well. We weren't informed that the Kadjar does come with an onboard GPS. Though we were told Lagoon provides a separate GPS anyway for accuracy since the onboard one is less reliable, we didn't know that or have issues with the the onboard GPS while traveling and were frustrated we weren't notified of that when we paid for the second GPS.

We rented a small car from Lagoon car rental for 7 days, and the people at Lagoon were very helpful, friendly, and professional. We had read many online horror stories about Iceland car rentals in general so we were initially a bit worried. However, the guy working at the check-in desk answered all of our questions, and during the rental car walk-through at the beginning of the rental, he did an extremely thorough job and marked down even very minor scratches that I would normally not mark down. At no time did I feel like Lagoon was trying to take advantage of us or pressure us into buying things we did not need. I felt like Lagoon had our best interests at heart, and the staff also gave great recommendations on places to visit. If I come back to Iceland again, Lagoon would definitely be my first choice for car rentals. Thank you for a great experience in Iceland.

Our trip was very find. I'm satysfied about the relationship for every necessiy happened with northbound and blue lagoon car rental. By telephone each one I called it was very fiendly and usefull. best regards giorgio pulcini

I obviously didn't check the car well enough when i picked it up. The tyres were bald and there was no spare. This resulted in a flat tyre from wear through the steel belts. Luckily we were only 90 minutes out of Reykjavik and the company handled it extremely well. They came out with a spare, then decided out was best to just swap the car out with another they had there. So we actually had a Subaru Forrester for most of the holiday. It performed perfectly and never skipped a beat. The customer service was excellent too. I really was fearful that the flat tyre was going to be a major drama, but it was handled with a minimum of fuss.

Excellent, easy, affordable.

It was easy to book online. There was a little confusion as to how to get someone to pick us up so when we finally decided we better call they sent someone right away. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. The car we rented wasn't available because "it was stuck in customs" and we were given an "upgrade" to a car that was smaller. We couldn't fit our luggage in this car so after some discussion with a staff person, he was able to find us a car that turned out to be the car we requested in the first place. We waited while they cleaned it up. The family we were with had great experience. So although we had trouble initially , the overall experience was good. The young man took care of us and made things right. Turning in the car was quick and easy.

The staff are very accommodating and friendly, the vehicle is just the right size for eight people , the only negative is that there is no armrest on the driver and front passenger, makes it uncomfortable for long drive.
