Lagoon Car Rental in Iceland

In general, I'm quite pleased with how it went with Lagoon Car Rental. We are group of five family adults. I was the one booked the car and three of us,including me, got flight delay for one day. After my email notification, Lagoon was able to let my daughter and her husband. who arrived on time, have the car which was under my name. Really appreciate their flexibility here. The checking in was also smooth. However, there is one thing I noticed that can improve. Upon checking out, the associate could not find the monetary side of the contract in the system. She could not tell how much we paid from the system. She had to asked my daughter to dig out her part of paper contract. Lagoon's system should keep record on everything, including the monetary side. So, this appears to be a deficiency in the rental system.

Despite the appearance of the car was not good (lot of damaged) and we were afraid to get some warning indicators , the service of lagoon car was highly available on the phone even lately. We could then continue our trip safely. We are then satisfy of this experience in Iceland.

Hello, We had a Dacia Duster. No worries about taking the car or returning. Fast transaction, friendly staff. Car adapted to the tour of the island. We were taken back to the hotel when we got back from the car without waiting. Perfect. Thank you.

Booking with Northbound was probably one of the best decisions we made for this trip. Once we booked, we received the Iceland 101 ebook which had some useful tips as it was our first time to Iceland. We walked in expecting a Hyundai i20 but was pleasantly surprised with a Renault Talisman which took diesel. Pick up and drop off was very easy and the staff at Lagoon Car Rental did not push any insurance plans. The car was a fun drive and even came with a seat massage for the driver. I would not hesitate to book again with Northbound and/or recommend to friends and family!

Das Auto war ok und mit niedrigem Kilometerstand. Keinerlei Probleme. Der Abholdienst vom Flugplatz hat nicht zufriedenstellend funktioniert. Der Fahrer Brachte mich zu zuerst zu Island4x4carrental und bat mich dort auszusteigen. Bis sich die Angelegenheit aufgeklärt hatte, war 1 Stunde meiner Reisezeit vorüber. Beim Einschecken wurde versucht ein anderes Auto, Subaro Outback, zu offerieren. Das Fahrzeug ist im Prinzip ok, entspricht jedoch nicht meinen Anforderungen an die Sitzhöhe. Es erforderte schon eine gewisse Standhaftigkeit den gemieteten Wagen zu erhalten. Dieser Wagen mußte dann noch hergerichtet werden und es war schon wieder 30 min Meiner Urlaubszeit dahin. Ansonsten war die Abwicklung absolut zufriedenstellend insbesondere die Fahrzeugrückgabe funktionierte einwandfrei. Vielen Dank.

Fantastic!!! We asked yo change locación of picking the campervan up, they did. And more importantly we had a puncture in the tyre and they solved it very quickly. Everyone was very helpful. I strongly recommend lagoon car rental. The camper was fantastic!!

The car we received was clean and of good quality. We received ride to the office and back to the airport. But...we paid for car model Subaru Forester but in the end we received Mitsubishi Outlander. Officer employee explained that web site informs that we're paying for "Subaru Forester or similar". That is true but there is no info behind what "similar is". Forester has better off-road potential than outlander which I explained to office employee - but he told me that there is nothing he could do as there were no foresters available at the moment. That was a big disappointment for me and I requested a call with manager - but I was informed that I can do that only next day and that I have to make decision now whether I take the car or cancel booking. In this case I was forced to take the car that doesn't suit my needs. When I asked about partial refund or discount - again there was nothing he could help me. So I was left without options and without possibility to manage something. Basically that is the reason I give you low rank of service, even despite the car itself was in proper condition.

Had an excellent experience with Lagoon and booking through Northbound. Before coming to Iceland, we had various questions, and the live chat was an excellent way to ask questions, and have a dialogue (with Liam) that allowed us to prepare for the trip well (about 3/4 times we engaged with the live chat, and got excellent inside information). On arrival, it wasn't fully smooth being met by a Lagoon rep, and had to wait a little while to be transferred to their office to pick up the car. But once we got to their offices, the process was quick, and smooth, and we were soon away, with everything (i.e., all the extras) that we ordered. The car itself was great, with everything you needed and designed very well (e.g., Canvas storage compartments, curtains, various nooks and crannies to store things). Overall, this added to the trip, and gave us a great way to explore Iceland. Thank you.
