Lava Car Rental in Iceland

Great car, great service. No nonsense. In and out quickly. One comment, the car was spotlessly clean but do not put wax/polish/Armorall on the floor mats, it makes them so slippery that it is a hazard.

My experience with the booking and the info that i was sent by Northbound and Lava was first class. The car itself was pretty battered but proved to be reliable and got us to where we wanted to go. My only issue is that we took out the Platinum insurance which was probably a waste of money considering that every panel on the car was scratched and/or dented. Overall, i would consider using Lava again when i next visit Iceland.

We had a great experience with Lava Car Rental! They picked us up at the airport when we landed and quickly got us in to our car. I booked the car for noon, even though we landed at 10am (oops), but they were able to accomodate us and get us a car by 11:30. We enjoyed our Dacia Duster. It was the perfect size for 2 people (no more than 2 especially if you have a suit case or 2 each) and was a 4x4 so we could tackle the dirt roads along our adventure. It was a manual car, as most are in Iceland, so make sure you understand that before booking. I recommend getting the windshield insurance as there are lots of rocks flying everywhere and you will most likely need it. When we returned our car, the Lava team quickly inspected our car and took us straight to the airport. It was an easy, quick experience and all of the employees were very friendly and helpful! Their prices are also the best around!

My Experience with Northboud was nice because I could compare different rental agencies and choose the most convenient one from a logistic and economical point of view. My experience with Lava Car Rental was satisfactory because I got an almost new Dacia Duster, very clean both inside and outside, I got useful information when driving close to Akureyri about the need to pay the fee in advance to use the tunnel (in this way it could spend less money).

The car was fine, just as we expected. We dind't like the service though The guys we met as at the airport of Reykjavìk weren't welcoming at all, and they gave us the impression they were working by using the least efforts they could..

We booked Toyota Land Cruiser Prado from Lava Car Rental via northbound. Price on northbound was a little lower than on Lava web site. We did not have any problem when piking vehicle up. Northbound has super user friendly user interface, and you can quickly check your booking, print voucher any time.

Very kind, friendly and helpful service, shuttle from/to the airport, car as described, as I wanted (diesel 4x4) and in the proper condition (I've done 2000 km in 4 days without problems). Great flexibility - I've changed a date, hours and payment method few times. If I visit Iceland Lava will be my pick.

I spend 10 days in the roads of Iceland having 4000 klm with the Dacia Duster. This car is made for these roads. It is a grade car. Thank you Lava Car Rental. It was an epic and awsome experience.

The Dacia Duster went really fine. Only in strong side winds it was a bit difficult to keep it on the road.

Hello, Car pleasant to drive ; with a comfortable interior space... It lacks energy in the slopes and its small reservoir requires too frequent stops at the petrol station. But it's a reliable car and it's the most important, finally ... Formalities of return and routing to the airport, fast and efficient ; even at 5 am. Thank you Thierry

Fine and easy to drive car. The tires had low profile at the front so little slippery on muddy roads. Everything worked well!
