Nordic Car Rental Campers in Iceland

The price is really attractive. The vehicle is in good condition and fuel efficient as well. Staff were friendly and processed our rental and return quite quickly. The heater on the van works well and kept us warm at night. There was no foldable plate windshield provided so we couldn't really cook as the fire always get blown off. Overall its a good experience. The only downside is that we waited for 2h at the airport before we finally found the pick-up guy.

The experiencewith Northbound was very good. The pick up and drop off were very easy and the support during the trip was almost always available.

Northbound support was excellent. Really we do appreciate how Liam answered all of our many questions. The employees of Nordic Campers also gave the best of us to help us. The sleeping mattress and camping equipment were really good. But we must tell you that we had a feeling the something is wrong with the management of the office in Keflavik. One day it was impossible to get anyone on the phone for five hours and also it was impossible to receive exact instructions for changing the flat tire. At the end, everything worked fine, but also we had a strong impression that you need more people in Keflavik office. There was a lot of waiting and stress among other customers. We are traveling a lot and have a lot of experience with renting the cars around the world and this is our honest opinion. You and CC car rental should work more on the management level.

Our experience with Nordic Campers was good. We had to overcome a first general impression that was negative: 1 hour wait at the airport and unclear information about who would pick us up + 45 min wait at the rental place. A camper that did not match the model we chose online (no bed at the back, so we had to unfold the bed below the dining table every night) and that was older than expected. Yet at the end, Christos, the manager has been great: good explanation, available, honest, service oriented. He made of our experience a good one. We warmly recommend Christos and we hope that the above points mentioned will be improved: accurate camper pictures, differentiation between model, accurate information about the pick up, etc.

We had an amazing time in Iceland and the van we rented suited our needs perfectly. Staff were great, very efficient and in less than an hour after landing we were on our way. We had everything we needed in that little van and were really surprised by the comfort and space we had. Also great on diesel, although it wasn't our first choice. We had a Dacia Dokka, if you want fancy bells and whistles pay more for the frills - but if you want good service and a cracking van that will go for miles and let you see this beautiful country then I would highly recommend.

Really the experience was not very good. We arrived late to the Reykjavik airport, around 1:30 AM and Nordic Campers transfer arrived more or less in time. Around 2 AM we were ready to leave and when we tried to start the motorhome (Ford), the engine was broken, that means that they didn't review the vehicle to ensure it was working correctly. They provided us with another motorhome (Fiat). We moved all the luggage to the new van, and then we notice that the second bed in the dining area was very small (around 1.50 meters or less). Nordic Camper responsible tried to convince us that it was fine and that we could use it as a bed without problems. I had to literally lay down in the bed to show that it was impossible to use. They didn't have more motorhomes available and the solution that they give us is that we should drive with the new van to the nearest camping (at 3 AM), sleep in the camping and then return at 8 AM when they open the office to get a new van. This solution was a nonsense, pay a camping, and sleep only a few hours in a van with children beds, so we suggest to sleep directly in their parking in the original Ford motorhome. At 8:00 AM we talked again with the person at the Nordic Camper desk (this person was much more competent than the one in charge the previous night), the mechanics checked that the engine was broken and they gave us another van with 4 full-size beds and a working engine. We were aware when we rented the motorhome that it will not be the latest model, but we also found a couple of problems during the travel. The first one was the handbrake, it was not working correctly and it was needed to leave a gear on to park. Also, the locking of the fridge was not working and we had to lock the door with the luggage. In summary, maybe we had bad luck, but it seems that Nordic Campers doesn't have enough personnel and procedures to ensure that they provide a good quality level to their customers.

We had a great Icelandic experience thanks to Northbound. They helped with everything and the motorhome was in perfect condition.

Was quite an experience....had a few hiccups at the beginning, but the overall convenience of this camper allowed us the flexibility to see all the great sights of Iceland without breaking the bank. Good equipment, pickup from and delivery to airport, plus multi-lingial personnel helped make the process fairly quick in checkout/check-in. There is no way you can compare the cost of eating out everyday, transportation to all the sights/excursions and ability to stop anywhere for a bathroom break to what this allowed us to accomplish. Give them a shot......they'll be under cost of the expense ones (most others in same industry).

Almos perfect. We had a little problem because we got stuck in mud and we discovered that the ring to pull the camper was broken. Hot water doesn’t work either.

Perfect, nice team, great support. Everything was fine. Thanks for making this amazing iceland round trip a nice experience.
