Nordic Car Rental Campers in Iceland

My experience was exactly what I expected it to be. We were picked up at the airport after our flight and drove a short distance to the office. Paperwork was easy. Keys in hand. Off to explore. The Docia Dokker was perfect for my wife and I. It was comfortable to sleep in. Handled the dirt roads like a champ! Heating system was a great addition. Plan to return to Iceland and would use northbound again. The only suggestions I would have: 1) Get a quality non-stick cook set. 2) Curtains for the windows.

Airport pickup was late - we were unable to make contact with the company during this time Staff - staff member going over rental paperwork was not friendly and said it was our fault the airport pickup was delayed Emergency - we had an issue on the weekend in which we needed to contact the department nd the emergency hotline was not answered at all, we called 7 times over a two hour span. The regular line to the department took 3 times for an answer, we were lucky we were not in an emergency as this would have been an even more serious issue The van - the actual van was wonderful with all the amenities we needed! The price was also ideal in comparison

I had great experience with Nordic campers. Will use them again when I come back to Iceland

It was quite an old camper with some things not working properly and many scratches on the ouside. When we picked up the camper the light above the table in the living compartment dit not work. After we made clear that we wanted that the lights work properly, your employees managed to fix one of the two lights. We had to wait quite a long time. Also a warning indicator on the dashboard lightend up. One of your mechanics looked at it, hit something in the engine compartment and the light went out. But the same day it was back again. After consultation via e-mail with your company they assured that nothing was wrong and that I could ignore the indicator. On the first day the blinking light on the right side spontaneously broke off and was hanging on the wire. I fixed it temporarily with medical tape and later with stronger tape. The cooking plate did not work properly: the flow of gas stopped if the knob was released. This was very annoying! Also we had problems with the electricity: the alarm indicator blinked and the switch for dumping the clear water changed its position to empty the fresh water tank. After consultation with your company an electricien came to us in Vik and he detected that one of the battery cables was loose. The last two days the light above the table did not work anymore and also the light in the toilet/bathroom did not work anymore. Furthermore I noticed that the tire on the right front side was low in profile. When we returned the camper one of your employees was not so friendly. In a very rude manner he asked me for the keys. When we picked up the camper, the lady who helped us was very friendly. Contact about the incidents mentioned above was with Christos. I got the impression that he was trying to assist us as best as he could. - I think you should not have old campers in your fleet. It is no promotion for your company if you see the old campers on the road and having problems with starting the engine. - Customer service should be in the system of ALL your employees. - Written instructions in the camper and a car manual in English (not in Finnish!).

I enjoyed my travels in the motorhome. The big issue that I had was that it was not aligned and pulled to the drivers side. Some better maintenance on the vehicles would be a big improvement. Customer service was very good. Larry

all aspects of our rental were very good. the only issue we experienced was having to wait 90 minutes to get picked up by the nordic camper representative.

We were very pleased with our experience with Nordic Campers. Upon arrival, the shuttle service was convenient and helpful since it was very early in the morning. Once at Nordic Campers, the associate went over all the details on the rental and the items included and excluded. He was very helpful with some of the items we added on (propane tank) and also did not pressure us to add anything else we didnt need. The vehicle was very good. We had an older model Fiat. The vehicle was in good condition and was not a concern for us throughout the trip. The interior was very clean and neat. We were very pleased with our experience and would surely recommend Nordic Campers to everyone who asks.

The vehicle was old and dirty. Nobody explained to us anything about its operation. When it broke down, we did not receive assistance from the company. We had to take the vehicle to the garage. They did not respond to e-mails or text messages, and when they answered the phone they were quite unpleasant and rude. We lost two days with the damaged car outside a garage. To finish, no apology or compensation.

Overall it was nice, no issues. A couple suggestions: have a can opener and corkscrew, and maybe something to make coffee in. You should consider another method of getting the heat out from underneath the bed. I think too much is left there. Large vents behind the seats which match the large vents in the cross member. We stored food with the dishes and that area then gets too hot because of the vent.

The van we rented was perfect for the ring road! It came with lots of cooking supplies, a comfortable mattress, a great heating system for nights, the car handled well, and it was very clean. Plus, the staff was very nice and accommodating. 10/10 would recommend!
