Nordic Car Rental Campers in Iceland

OK. Some things on the van did not work or were missing which we only discovered once well on route (half the curtain between the driving bay and rest of vehicle; something to light the gas; and it took us ages to find a gas station that sold gas cylinders - there is no point renting a van without gas so a cylinder with gas should be part of the package; and to get the gas stove to work we had to hold down the buttons with something otherwise the flame went out; impossible to open vent above double bed because of missing handle; window blind on left side above table would not stay up so impossible to keep out the light which made sleeping difficult given short nights). There was an orange light on the dashboard that sometimes came on indicating the engine struggling or the disc slipping (?) - in 40 years of driving have never seen this symbol so spent a lot of time worrying the fan-belt or clutch was about to give up. The electric cable was too short in three of the campsites we stayed at so could not connect to electricity and did not find a shop selling extension cable of suitable amperage. otherwise comfortable and clean - we will be coming back and renting a camper - but next time will try to find a more recent vehicle even if a bit more expensive.

Van was good for the 4 adults and our bags. We liked having the yellow van as it was easy to spot. Could have used more info about seatbelts, heater and water drainage. Seals on windows and doors not great so noisy and cold. Check in was slow and headlight was out so took even longer to leave rental building. Had to call shuttle and wait for other party. Shuttle to airport was very quick.

Everyone at Nordic Campers was great. The camper itself was fine, but not anything like we were led to believe on the page when we booked it (or maybe we didn't read everything correctly). We had looked at other companies offering similiar cars and Nordic Campers was a bit cheaper so we went with them. However, looking at the many other campers we saw in Iceland, the Nordic Campers are by far the most bare-boned, so to speak. We had to beg for chairs, no camping table, had to pay extra for a food box, no storage near the beds (in the form of hanging bags or the like), no curtains, , we had just a uncovered mattress filling for a bed, and the list goes on and on. We had a good time and learned to love the camper but it was a rocky start and because of the lack of equipment we would perhaps not recommend Nordic Camper (although everyone at Nordic Camper was great and the service (pick-up and communication and the like) was great.

Very nice, convinient and comfortable pick-up with name tag from the airport. Same for departure. Car in good conditions as described. Small derivation with chairs and table was solved easy. Well overall experience

Pick up, drop off, and the airport shuttle were convenient and we loved our camper van. We were able to explore so much of Iceland at our own pace and comfortably. Thank you Northbound!

it was agreat expirients for us and the camper was well equiped and all things in order when we gave back the car, the people was very lazy.....

We had a wonderful time in Iceland, only the weather could have been a little bit better ;) We were satisfied with our car from Nordic Campers, both picking up and dropping the car went without any problems. We even got a nice discount on one of our insurances. We only got slightly confused about Rent A Wreck (who we got changed from to Nordic Campers) cause they did not seems to noticed that we are in fact not renting a car by them. They called and mailed us several times.

I am very satisfied with the company and the excellent service. The car is a good budget option and i had no issues with it. we slept in it better than expected :)
