Fantastic, no issues.

The general experience was very good. Your employees are generally very friendly. The only issue I would like to raise is that the entrance of your warehouse is not very clearly labelled. On the day we dropped the car off there was heavy snow and it took us way too long to find your car rental place. Other than that no complaints in terms of the car.

It was a great company with great service. The car was good, windshield wipers and headlights didnt work too well, but when the car broke down, we had an agent pick us immediately and the new car we recieved was in excellent condition. Overall, our experience was great.

They were very good, the only problem was of my own doing - the door blew open in strong wind, something I should have known from experience could happen. The door was damaged, and this type of damage is not covered by insurance (something I was aware of beforehand), and it was quite expensive to fix but not as bad as I feared and the owner and staff were very sympathetic. But we warned! This type of damage is extremely common - an old trick that I'd forgotten, but is very simple to follow: In strong winds, always try to park facing the wind direction!

The car was great, but it wasn't the car that we wanted to rent originally. I had reserved the Mazda CX-3 AWD, but when we arrived we were given a Ford SUV instead. The vehicle was fine anyway and was good to drive. The prices of the cars in Iceland are pretty expensive. I rent often in the US with rates that are far lower. When we returned the car early in the morning the staff was nice and invited us to wait for the bus to the terminal inside. Only problem is that you have to be outside to catch the bus and the bus drove right by without picking us up, so we had to walk to the terminal.

I was a little wary that the company was not at the airport and may be a little troublesome to meet up with the representive and go to the company to collect the car. However, it was a smooth transition and very soon, we are onto a great adventure in Iceland. The car is great, the GPS is helpful and generally made our trip more awesome than it already was. Returning the car was a breeze as well, especially when we were returning the car at odd hours. Cheers to rent-a-wreck for delivethe supplier as promised.

Northbound was great! They picked us up from our hotel, were extremely helpful at the agency, and then we easily dropped the car off at the airport. Truly a hassle free experience. My only complaint was that the windshield wipers were a bit run down and the defroster worked sporadically--next time I would check those things before leaving.

It was a really great experience, although I think that car was a bit more expensive than expexcted. The jeep was too tiny for that price. However, the staff treated us very kindly and gathered us at the airport, what was very well, as our flight had delayed.

Everything was great and we recommend the the supplier.

Very good, no problems, friendly service going back next year

We hired a Suzuki Vitara for 5 days when visiting in early December. We found the car to be is great condition, in fact we were presented with a model better than we expected. And the service provided by Northbound couldn't have been better. All round easy and enjoyable experience.

We had great time in Iceland. Wheatger wasn't really nice but we did a good choice by using your 4x4 car. It was snowing all day our first day in Iceland but that wasn't problem for our trip. You have a very good service and we will come again on Iceland and chose your car.

The two guys that helped us at Icerental were prompt in meeting us (even at 5am at the airport), super friendly, and all around great to work with. Our car was very nice considethe supplier it was 9 years old. Window had some trouble rolling down, but otherwise no issues. Highly recommended!

In november we rent your 4x4 to travel to the south of Iceland. We planed to travel by our own and enjoy the beautiful country. We also traveled "off-road" - for German condition :) - the hole trip we felt comfortable and save in your car! Thanks for everything! We also want to visit Iceland in the summer - and we know where we get the rental car!

Our experience with Northbound was great! Although we had some difficulties finding the agent when we first arrived at the airport as there were so many agents from different rental companies there, it wasn't a huge issue. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and provided us with useful information for our trip as well. The car was a bit old but was surprisingly really smooth. It served us really well throughout the trip. Would definitely recommend it to others.

Our experience with Northbound was excellent. The website is easy to use, and we were able to rent a 4x4 much cheaper than other global rental companies. The Suzuki provided was a very fun ride. Perfect for traveling Iceland duthe supplier the winter weather! The staff were so friendly, and the customer service was superb. They offered to pick us up from our hotel, and provided great advice regarding travel spots and travel conditions. They were very easy-going with the car return, and did not charge us additional fees, though we returned the car a few hours late. I would definitely use Northbound again!

The car that we received was very old and the condition was not very good. The cooland was not sufficient and the wipers were bad making so much noise. Also, there weren't wipers at the back. The car wasn't worth the price we paid. But they picked us up from the airport promptly and they told us to return to P3 parking at the airport and we had difficulties in entethe supplier the carpark not knowing how to enter without paying. We were not given sufficient information. Nevertheless, we had a great time in iceland(:

In a word, the rental experience was outstanding. Arriving early AM, we were notified by a friendly caller that he would be waiting for us. Bjorki greeted us warmly, drove us to pick up our car, and gave us great recommendations. While the car we rented was a tad small, it did the job. On our way back to the airport at 0530, we managed to get lost. Sleep deprived, and In total frustration , we called Lava. It was Bjorki to the rescue; he cheerfully drove to us and led us to the agency. From there he drove us to airport and all was well, or so we thought. Shortly thereafter my phone rang--Bjorky had found a pair of glasses in the rental car. "I'll drive back to airport to return them," he offered. Long story short, we highly recommend Lava. We couldn't ask for better service than we got.

Our Jimny was a reliable car, which took us nearly everywhere on Iceland we wanted to go. For this price it was in a good condition. Only the back door closed not so good, so that all the time the indicator light was glowing. Furthermore the fan belt was squealing very loud when the engine was cold. But all in all, everything was OK. Thanks.

Hi Runar, Thanks for the note. Everything went fine but we received a car that had a trunk that did not lock. This was mentioned when the car was dropped off and was surprising to me that for the amount we paid, we would get a car that did not lock. We had many day excursions planned and this forced us to have to plan a way to leave the luggage at hotels or pay to check luggage which was overall a large inconvenience when we otherwise would have just left the luggage in the car if it was able to lock. Overall, the car and service was fine but wanted to share that feedback. Thanks, Kathleen

The supplier was great, a person from the car rental met us around 5 am. No complains about the car or the rental experience. I was assuming the car had GPS (from what i believed when i booked) but it was not there and dropping the car back was not easy as the parking lot was full. I called them back to confirm that i left the car in the another row. I think if they had given the map for parking and also marked the rows that you can park with instructions to leave the keys, it would have been great.

Booking on Internet was pretty easy! They picked us up at the airport and we didnt had to wait, was perfect also! Arriving at the rental place, we paid what we had to pay and singt the contract. After that, Runar showed us the car, we walked around and wrote down the ''defects'' like scratches and bumps. Once we had a little problem. We could call the company and they helped us immediately. Was very good also! The only thing i have to criticize, or who you could change, is that you could have write us a mail, or sms about the returning. We arrived an the company place, the doors where open, but noone was there. After some minutes i found a letter on the window, that we can just leave the Car in a parkingarea at the airport. Maybe they did not know befor, that at this time noone would be there, can happen. Thats the only ''negative'' comment i have to make, but maybe it will help you to change it in the future. Great service! Very polite and helpful. They came to pick us up at the airport and when we returned the car they brought us back to the airport. No complains.

I was very satisfied with my Car Rental experience with Icerental 4 x 4. The booking process was very simple, they collected me from the Airport as arranged and the car was ready when I arrived at the offices a few minutes drive from Keflavik. I rented a Suzuki Vitara which was in good condition and I never had any problems with it duthe supplier the 4 days of driving. I would have liked a USB port, but I guess other vehicles do have them and I should have made sure before booking. I intend to return to Iceland in the summer of '17 and will have no hesitation in booking again from the supplier. The service was excellent from the staff who were very helpful and in my experience, I would definitely recommend them to other travellers. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you in the summer. We used Northbound to book a car with the supplier as they quoted the best price. We were booking the car for a week in Iceland. Since our hotel was very close to Reykjavik airport and we already had booked our two way flybus service, we chose Reykjavik airport as the pickup and drop off location. Cancelling flybus service is a pain, so if you are going to be renting a car (which is a good option), please dont book flybus sevice. Anyways, from the start the supplier was bad. We had to sit and wait at Reykjavik airport for 30 mins before someone came and gave us the car. We had a flat tire on the 4th day and when we called Thrifty, their service was horrible. They just left us in the middle of nowhere and said we were on our own or pay approx $100 for someone to come and change the tire. We just changed the tire on our own and fixed the flat tire for $40 in a show nearby. Finally duthe supplier the return, as per our rental agreement, we went to Reykjavik airport and there was no one at Thrifty counter. We called them, they asked us to leave the car there and leave the keys in the dropbox. We did as advised. Sadly there is no pickup and dropoff option. We walked back 2 mile to our hotel. Took the flybus and returned back home. Story does not end there. After 2 weeks, I see an additional unknown charge on my credit card. I contacted Thrifty and got no reply. This is where Runar Thor from Northbound comes. He jumped in on top of this issue. He was very quick in replying to my emails, contacting thrifty. Finally after his persistence thrifty paid me back the money they had taken from my card. The reason thrifty gave was, we returned the car at Reykjavik airport and they "THOUGHT" it was a different location from where we picked up the car. If not for Runar and his amazing customer service I would have $50 more in my Iceland trip. More than the expense, the feeling of being robbed by Thrifty would have stuck to our wonderful Iceland trip. Use this review to decide on your own whether to go with Thrifty for car rental or not. However I would highly recommend everyone to go with Runar Thor's Northbound services. You wont go wrong and will have an excellent service.

The car rental from the supplier was without any problems or issues. The Jimny was perfect like always and the staff very nice and supporting. Ich would recommend the supplier and Northbound to all my friends planing a trip to Iceland.

Rent-A-Wreck were excellent! We hired a Suzuki Jimny from them and it was just the job to get us around the Golden Circle and everywhere we wanted to go. The customer service was fantastic.

Hey. It was OK, BUT you have to control the car - here i think about the cleaner of the front and back window (i do not know the right word, but i think you know. I was the driver, and i could not see much through the window. It can be dangerous - special when it is dark and raining. That was all. Have a good Christmas.

All in the all, the car worked out really well, but there were some hiccups at the beginning. We went to pick up the car at 8 am so there was only one worker on site. We were greeted, cruised through the process, given the keys, and then he left. We went to get the car and it would not turn on. It didn't even turn over when the key was turned. We then stood around for about 30 minutes before the representative returned to the office. He then let us take the car that he had been driving. And let us return the car with a half tank as opposed to a full tank to apologize for the inconvenience. He also failed to explain the dropping off process which led to some fairly high stress as the office had closed early and we had no idea what to do with the keys. The car, however, ran fine and worked well for our two day excursion.

The operator was nice but it took us a long time to find him, because he didn't have a board with my name on it. Also, I was surprised to be picked-up by IceRental, I thought the service was Northbound. Not what I was expecting. Other than that, the car was great. Also, I paid for a pick-up and drop-off, but on the night of the drop-off they said they were closed so I had to drop-off the car in the parking myself. I paid for a service that I didn't get, and might I add that it was pretty expensive. They didn't offer to reimburse me for that.

We thought we had selected a car rental that included adequate insurance cover, but were told by Thrifty that we only had basic cover and had to pay extra for more comprehensive insurance - that was a disappointment

We had a great exprience with the supplier and Northbound from start to finish. Very responsive customer service. We forgot to add an extra driver and also wanted to add Sand and Ash protection the day before picking up the car, we got help instantly which was very nice. Also, getting the car delivered to our Air bnb was a very good experience. Saved us all the hassle with waiting in line at the pickup office and so on. On the day of leaving the car we were a bit late but the personal came and picked us up att the gas-station close to Keflavik Airport, we jumped in another car and they drove our rental car to the next customer. Great experience! Thank you!

Fantastic experience. We landed early in the morning and had a very friendly gentleman pick us up from the airport to drive us to the office. Check in was a breeze and we were off in no time. Car was clean and in good shape, brand new studded winters on it. Friendly staff, offered that we could call anytime for help or tips about what to see, never did but the offer was very nice.

Great, easy rental experience. Booked very last minute but arrived at airport to meet nice staff member who took us to the offices 5 minutes away. Straightforward, no nonsense contract setup and off we went after quick extreme weather brief. Would definitely recommend and use again.

Hello everyone, We have spent our holidays in Iceland for nine days at the beginning of November 2016. We rented a Hyundai Tucson for eight of those days. The car was from 2008 and worked very well. We made a round-trip of about 2400 km. We could drive any road in Iceland without any problems. Before the rental we could take pictures all around the car so that any scratch or whatever was documented. We got papers/ copies of the car conditions. When we brought the car back, they didn't even check the car. I think the reason for that is that the car was from 2008 and already had some scratches etc. We could call when we had trouble with the car. One day the car didn't want to start. There must me light switched on duthe supplier the night. We called but solved the problem by ourselves. We contacted neighbours to help us. They did. Everywhere you go, you can contact the icelandic people. But we have been there in the off-season. If you go there when it is busy, it might be different. Another advice: Do check the functions like windscreen wipers as well as scratches all around and on the roof of the car. Overall the rental went as well as our whole iceland-trip. I highly recommend the supplier. They have the best prices and it works very well. Before our rental we read some comments and recommendations here. It helped. We got exactly what we asked and paid for. It's hard to find a cheap 4x4 car when travelling to a country you had never been before and so it was nice to find a good, easy website where you could find cheap rentals. We had a great time in Iceland and driving around was a beautiful experience because wherever you looked the view was stunning. I would definitely recommend anyone to drive around Iceland to get to know the country properly and see all that it has to offer.

People's service was excellent ! However , we faced a big problem . We couldn't drive properly , because of damaged front glass which couldn't be clear out of heavy rain !!!! Consider that we rent a car for round trip in ICELAND with all bad weather conditions , and risk several times because we couldn't see !!!

There was a bit of a miscommunication when we arrived but it was fixed promptly - we had changed the date of pick up a couple months prior to our travels, and apparently the supplier hadn't been notified of this. However, after waiting a while for our car to be dropped off we called Northbound to check on the status and they quickly remedied the situation. Other than this small hiccup, we couldn't have been happier. Northbound's customer service was great - I had communicated with them via email a few times prior to traveling and they always got back to me within the hour. The people I spoke with were very pleasant. Overall, we were pleased with the Jimny (especially the price, which was MUCH cheaper than other rental companies!). I would definitely go through Northbound again.

The car was ready when we got there and really was great. I would say that it is difficult to understand the relationship between Northbound and Thrifty and I am not sure I was receiving the same coverage that I thought I was. It is very unusual not to receive any type of documentation after you returned the car. I think the representatives could mention the walking option to/from the rental car site to the airport. There were a lot of people waiting for a shuttle and we discussed should we walk for a while. We ended up walking and via the parking lot it was a much better option then waiting. You should let customers know it is an option. Overall great experience and we really enjoyed our trip to Iceland.
