Good
Our car worked well for us and we didn't not have any problems. Everyone at Lagoon Car Rental was very helpful and pick up we waited for about 30 minutes after getting through costumes) and drop off at the airport went smoothly for the most part.

Excellent
It was great. Service was delightful and people were friendly. The car was very reliable and no problems. It was a bit hard to go up hills though, as the car would not shift gear very easily when ascending. Also, on the dirt roads, a big rock could be felt through the floor of the car.

J'ai loué un camper à northbount. Super expérience. Le camper était neuf et très pratique c'est une expérience très intéressante. Et assez confortable. Nous y avons dormi une semaine moitié en camping , moitié en sauvage. Les paysage sont extraordinaires et donc ce genre de véhicule est très adapté à ce voyage.

Our experience with Lagoon Car Rental was very smooth. They gave us an upgrade because the original car did not have the roofbox attached. Returning the car was also easy and they promptly gave us a ride to the terminal.

Lagoon was great. Personnel was so helpful . And the outback we rented was outstanding. On future trips to Iceland we will stay with Lagoon.

Northbound was great - very communicative and quick to respond to questions in the lead up to the trip. Lagoon Car Rental was also very helpful; they had made a mistake with my reservation and didn't have my car available, but were quick to fix the situation - much appreciated.

Not a good experience with Lagoon Car Rental. Had puncture and found wheel nuts had been put on so tight it was impossible to get them off with the wheel brace supplied with the car. All Lagoon would do is send out a local mechanic to assist who I had to pay 50,000 ISK direct. If the car had been prepared properly I could have changed the wheel my self and would have cost me nothing. Would not recommend to others and will post my views on social media.

I would say it was a disaster! It starting with the pick up at the airport which last forever, due to at least 15 car rental on the same morning dixit the driver! But the worst was to come , when I arrived at Lagoon, Pajero 7 seats was not available due to mechanical problems which can happen of course. So the only car available was a land cruiser 5 seats! Reason for renting a 7 seats was that we were 5 adults with luggages and we didn't want to be too tight in the car as we were making a 2500 km trip in 9 days. Due to this issue, after long talking Lagoon gave us a 343 € discount, but with the promise that Pajero when repaired will be delivered either on the same day or the day after to our hotel. And of course Lagoon will let me know what was the progress of the repair. obviously nobody called me, and I called the customer service who told me they sincerely apologise, they understand my disappointment and they will check with the management to grant an additional discount supposed to be in total 55000 Isk which is much higher than 343€! Supposed to be confirmed if accepted by mail which once again never happen! Finally when returning the car, I have to explain once again to somebody else the whole story. And reply was the car was still not repaired and discount granted was high enough to compensate the category difference between Pajero 7 seats and Land Cruiser 5 seats. For your information I was supposed to pay 1836€ including the 15% advance payment for the Pajero 7 seats and I paid for the Landcruiser 1495,4€ it is a nice discount but it will not compensate the fact that customer service was really deficient and during 9 days, 3 passengers ( my daughter, son and father in law ) who were on the backseats were tighten , which spoiled a little bit our trip. Thanks god, Iceland landscapes are extraordinary! I m used to rent car either for my business or for family vacation, and it is the first time I have such a bad service. Best regards H Chambriard

My Lagoon Car Rental experience: EXCELLENT! I ended up with a somewhat better car than I reserved, for no extra cost. Their agent met us at the airport as promised. The check-in was at a "easy going pace" when compared to the usual American "in a hurry" style. They offered and quickly explained their insurance options, but did not try to push anything. I had done my homework on insurance (and you should too!), so they went easy on it. They provided a gas discount chip for gas at "Olies" that gave me a 15% discount. Since Iceland has expensive gas, everything helps. Car return was easy, and painless.Best of all Lagoon was HONEST. I had inspected the car before accepted it... its was in great condition, nearly new, and I could not find any damage. On my last day, the sun was fully out, and I noticed a tiny chip in the windshield. Having been so careful, I felt disappointed, but know they would find it too, and I will have to file a claim with my insurance. Oh well. However, when they checked the car, they also double checked their records. It turned out the the tiny chip was already there, and not my problem. Wow! They could have been dishonest with me, and charged me. But they did not. They were honest! You read many horror stories about auto rental issues in Iceland, but based upon my experience, I say: Trust Lagoon. Yes, I will be happy to rent from them again next time. Thank You Lagoon

The whole process was smooth and generally no problem, except at the time we check in there was a queue so we had to wait maybe around an hour before getting our booking. The car from Lagoon car rental was definitely better than what we expect: it had comfy comforter and pillows, compartments to store our stuff and cover for back door extension which was really useful on bad weather days. The team at Lagoon car rental was also easy to deal with, no fuss and really up front with the costs, insurance cover and other matters. Highly recommend these guys if you need a Caddy Camper!

Outstanding!
Pros. We were offered Subaru XV instead of Forester and additional insurances for free as compensation, which saved us money and we really did not need larger car. Cons. GPS dd not recognize any address in the Reykjanes area and we had to use Google Maps in the cell phone to find Lagoon Car Rentals on our way back to airport. It would be good to have office address as home address or other preset address in the GPS device.

Took awhile to be picked up and then dropped off at the airport. But car itself was brand new and fun to drive, and checking in and out with staff was pretty easy.

It was OK. However when we picked up the car we discovered that there was a built in satnav so took the gps that we had hired back in to the office. The person was very short with me and said that I would still need the gps as the car's wasn't very detailed. So although I had read that others had got a refund I had to take it. Of course we never used it as it the car's was fine. This wasted money. However the shuttle was very efficient at pickup and drop. The car was in good condition but there was no manual for it and this would have been useful to work out how to use cruise control and the windscreen wipers. I probably wouldn't use Lagoon (through Northbound) again or recommend to others.

Excellent
We received a KIA picanto instead of the Hyundai i10, and the car seemed new and in good order. Everything worked nicely, from the pick up to the drop off. We got the information we needed and we could call at any hours. Everyone tried their best to make any transition smooth, therefore the service was good!

We rented a Dacia wagon from Lagoon near the airport for 9 days. Car worked well (recommend diesel as mileage is key when fuel is US$7.50/gallon). We bought the windshield insurance which came in handy as we apparently took some gravel damage. Lagoon is off-airport and we had a wait for pickup, but return was smooth. Staff was professional and there wasn't the dreaded wait at the counter either end.
