Outstanding!
It was good. They seem like a small company so I was glad to be connected to them through Northbound. Otherwise I would have never found them. I had a brand new car and no issues with it. There were no issues when returning the car.

Renting from Northbound was easy from start to finish. We were promptly picked up at the airport and quickly shuttled to our car rental location. We were on the road with our Diesel Kia in no time at all. The car was clean, drove well, and we appreciated the 'wind' tips from our agent. Easy check-in and drive back to airport. You guys rock!!

Outstanding!
Everything was great. Staff very friendly, good speaking english. Car was a new one, only 8000 km. We received the map of Iceland and all information about road conditions.

Our experience with Lagoon Car Rental was great! The shuttle to and from the rental place is very convenient. The car had great mileage and interior was clean. The car even came with a gas discount chip on the keys. Highly recommend this company to rent through.

Excellent
The overall experience was excellent; the airport pickup and dropoff was really convenient. My group ended up needing a larger car after discovering that our original rental didn't have enough trunk space for our baggage...the only issue I had was that the larger car was more expensive than it would have been if we booked it online originally, but that's to be somewhat expected. The car itself worked perfectly; again the experience was positive.

Lagoon car rental upgraded us to a Toyota RAV which is a much bigger and nicer car set for the environment, with was super nice! if one advice to people renting: be careful when examining the car for scratches and dents before you drive. it went fine for us, but this way you dont have to worry for being blamed for something you didn't do to the car.

It was fine. Only issue was lack of info on the final confirmation that at the airport I was actually looking for a Lagoon rep and not a northbound rep. I would suggest you make it crystal clear on the documents you send to the customer that you are meeting a Lagoon rep. Also no use putting a phone number or email to contact if no one is going to answer for 3 hours..

The overall experience starting from checking in to check out and the vehicle, was truly exceptional. The staff were very knowledgeable and also helped us with understanding how to handle the driving conditions in Iceland. Overall a great company!!!

Although they were short staffed for the holiday, they were still able to make us feel unrushed and gave us great tips for our short adventure. Our Kia Sorrento fit 6 adults easily (we didn't have a lot of luggage) and was so comfortable. We really enjoyed driving around in it and had a very quick and easy check in for the way back. I would totally rent through you again. Thank you!!

The car was fine and worked well for our trip. However, the staff at Lagoon were not very friendly or helpful when we picked up the vehicle. We rented a car seat for our son and there was no instruction manual provided. The staff had no knowledge how to install the seat and when I asked for some help, I got a rather smart ass response ('you put the baby in it'). When I finally got someone to come out to the car to help, they went about installing the car seat incorrectly. The manufacturers label on the side of the seat clearly indicated that the method of install depended on the weight of the child but the person assisting us did not seem to think that was an issue and installed the seat forward facing instead of rear facing. We asked for another car seat, and there was only one available that was too small for our son (it was for newborns). Rather than offering to fix the situation, we were left to figure it out on our own. American and European countries (including Iceland) have different laws governing child seats. We relied on the rental company to provide us with a safe, functional, and reliable car seat for our trip - after all that was what we paid for - but we should have just flown with our own and risked getting in trouble for not having a 'legal' car seat since at least then we would have known our son would be safer in the event of an accident. I was disappointed that the Lagoon staff didn't appear to have any concern for our predicament. Had i not already paid for a large percentage of the rental, i would have used an international rental company instead.

Good
Mixed. At the airport I was given a different car than i rented. Tire pressures were low, there was no scraper for Windows. Then I found out (luckily before I left reykjavik) that one if the headlights was out. So I had to go to the reykjavik office to exchange the car. Good news was that the second car was ok for the rest of the trip.

We had a Kia 5 door. Clean a few tiny scratches but really a nice car. Tyres were good. We drove on ice and they worked well.Clean internal and external. Car was waiting and ready for us. Good quick service to pick up and return vehicle. Shuttle service efficient. No surprise costs.

I would recommend this service to everyone, nice brand new car, low price, rental is conveniently nearby Jerks ok and there also are a few shops in the vicinity. But the manager was a bit pushing too much for additional insurance, but that's how rental works I suppose. This was the first ever I used and it was great experience.

Ended up renting a Suburu Forester. Good experience overall. Pickup and Drop-off from/to airport service was definitely a plus. Staff was able to clearly explain everything. Had a small chip on the windshield and still paid €98 for that given the gravel/sand&ash insurances which aren't exactly cheap. The other issue with that is when picking-up the vehicle there were already some known damages (chips) on the windshield. Perhaps the solution to that is to lower the amount (or even eliminate) the out-of-pocket €98 if renting for a long period of duration (because gravel insurance is paid daily). Chipping on the window is a common problem in Iceland.

I had a fairly pleasant experience. Only issue I ran into was they had no record of my vehicle rental when I arrived. When they were able to find it, they had given away my 2016 Subaru Forester because of a time conflict. They offered me a Mitsubishi Outlander instead (or I had the option to wait for a returned Subaru to be cleaned). Besides that, I had an easy experience with the company. Thanks!

Lagoon car rental had provided a wonderful experience. I m satisfied with their punctuality on the provided timing as late as 1am. Despite having to book a Hyundai Tucson, we got a free upgrade immediately with similar model ( Kia Sportage) when it is unavailable. Their price was also reasonable and the car was very clean too

Brilliant experience with the company. Collected us on time from our hotel and gave us an automatic upgrade to a 4*4 vehicle which was not expected! No problems, great price and would recommend to anyone.

I had an excellent experience with Northbound and Lagoon car rental. They had the best prices I could find and the car I rented was kept in great condition and drove well. Customer service was excellent with pick ups and drop offs from the hotel. The only improvement would be around a little miscommunication. I didn't realise that Lagoon were a part of Northbound and so I walked past the lady holding the Lagoon Car rental sign and had to email Northbound to get her to come back after I realised and she'd driven away. The only suggestion would be to make that clearer. Otherwise it was a fantastic experience and will recommend Northbound to others.
