MYCAR in Iceland

My review of your experience renting the Toyota Yaris Cross Automatic in Iceland is extremely positive. The heated seats were an appreciated comfort in such a cold environment, and the car's good grip and grip, even in strong winds, allowed me to travel safely. Furthermore, during my trip to Iceland with the Toyota Yaris Cross Automatic Hybrid, I also noticed reasonable fuel consumption, which was another plus. The driving comfort and ample cargo space made the trip even more enjoyable. The car proved reliable in every situation, confirming its excellent versatility for exploring this wonderful country! All in all, it was a great rental experience with MyCar, which helped make my trip unforgettable. I highly recommend the Toyota Yaris Cross Automatic Hybrid for a hassle-free Icelandic adventure!

Loved the car, very capable for the conditions. We lost our front licence plate while fording a river and rang mycar straight away to report it. They were fantastic to deal with it and sorted the details so we could just drop the car off and be on our way. Great to deal with, highly recommend.

Really awesome car, and really awesome staff both on getting the car, and dropping it off.

Booked a car through Northbound and picked it up from My car depot, Reykjavik office, which is 3 miles out of the downtown city area, but, easy to find (number 12 bus from the city centre and a short walk), the staff there were very friendly, professional and efficient. No question was too much for them. The car was in great condition and easy to drive . Dropped the car back at the Keflavik airport depot on a Sunday at 6pm - amazed to see they had staff still working at this time, so it was really convenient. They also shuttled us to the airport hotel as part of the service ( as the drop off is a 15 minute drive from the airport). Again, they were very friendly and helpful. Overall,, great service. Would definitely use them again ( although, as we inadvertently did some driving on the gravel roads of mid-west Iceland, I'd book a slightly larger vehicle!)

The car itself was great… But, it didnt have a full tank of gas and there were dents and scratches all over the vehicle that were not noted when we picked up the vehicle. Luckily my gf suggested we videotape and take pics b4 we took off. However the dings and scratches were extensive enough that we thought it best to let the individuals in the office know.. which I’m glade we did but all this took an additional 30+ min in not nice weather. Additionally, 3/4 through the trip there was a weather advisory for high winds (over 50min) which eventually wreaked havoc with the forward collision sensor causing a warning to continuously go off in the center message area.. The individuals in the office were nice and responsive as possible about everything but it would have been nice if the vehicle was truly ready and fueled when we got.. not to mention we arrived 12hrs later than planned bc of aircraft issues.. so it wasn’t like they didn’t have time. Additionally I kept them updated with our changing eta. Again the people did the best they could, but clearly there is/was a gap w the intake/sign off of this vehicle. Additionally they said we only needed to bring the vehicle bk with 1/2 a tank.. which is great for us, but I hope this vehicle got topped off b4 the next person got into it.

The car was in prime condition and it was an excellent choice for driving around the country. Every staff member, from shuttles to the reservations desk, was extremely helpful, corteous and professional. I highly recommend using Northbound and MYCAR again.

Everything went well. Zippy car The only problem on our end was getting a full tank of gas at the end. We put 5000 idk to top it off. We couldn’t figure out the way to just let the tank fill. All else is good Mark

It was a great car to drive. Easy to pick up and drop off. All people were very helpful and friendly. Would use Northbound again.

We had some issues with the car. I requested before departure making sure the van was the longest version so that all of the luggage could be transported. Arriving in Reykjavik it appeared to be a shorter version, which lead to problems with the luggage. Also the space inside the vehicle was quite limited and at the end of the week some problems came up because the van was too heavily loaded. So all in all it was not meant for the use advertised on the website (9 persons with luggage).

The the 2023 Toyota Highlander was a good vehicle overall and being able to use android auto to navigate was helpful. The onboard navigation took us to the wrong location a few times so we ended up using google maps (downloaded the maps so could use offline) primarily. Had to clear the storage and cache for android auto a few times due to connection issues with the vehicle. Our biggest disappointment however was MYCAR rented us a vehicle with worn summer tires. We found ourselves on icy roads due due to snow, rain and freezing weather during our travels that made the roads slippery. It was a distressful situation wondering if we might slide off the road due to the tires. Noticed when we returned the vehicle that most of the 4x4's had been switched over to studded winter tires, really wish they would have done that for us before we headed out or at least asked us where we'd be going in order to know if we needed a vehicle with better tires especially since we'd have it for 2 weeks. We drove all the way around Iceland, mostly on the ring road but also ventured off it to explore other areas. We were there from Sep 28 to Oct 11.

Pick up and drop up went smoothly...the Rav 4 met our needs, and you followed through with your promise that the Rav 4 was the car we would get. I will use Northbound again.

Was very simple comparing rentals, insurance, dates was simple. Pickup and drop off at the airport was quick, friendly and easy. Will use again on my next trip to Iceland.

We rented AWD RAV Toyota from MyCar, and the whole experience was really good. Swift pickup at the airport (though they seem to have a hourly pickup so you may wait a moment) - and from there the whole experience was seamless. Within minutes we are on the road, had a lovely car and retuning the car was very simple too. If a permanent sign by all the rental companies - showing where the driver will meet them to pick them up is possible, that may alleviate some anxieties I saw on people's faces waiting for their various companies drivers.

The SUV worked well for our group of passengers with several pieces of luggage. It was economical and comfortable. However my only issue was the alignment of the tires was off the entire holiday. The steering wheel was at a complete 25degree angle making it w bit difficult to steer.

The car was just fine, powerful and spacious.

We loved the car! The service was also great. I would not recommend the GPS or Wi-Fi as we had our phones and Google maps worked better than GPS.

Thank you for providing an easy to use service and fair prices! It was so great to have a wide selection of vehicles to match our adventure and stick to our budget. The car was a perfect fit and the service was thorough and friendly, especially for driving in a new country.

Picked up exactly on time. Renting paper work was quick and correct. Staff were friendly and a pleasure to deal with. Car worked fine.

Car was comfortable and performed very well for us. Wagon had plenty of space for our luggage.
