Icerental 4x4 in Iceland

The car was great for the conditions. We had a stressful 10 minutes when we couldn't start the car after stopping at a remote site. However eventually we wiggled the steering wheel and all was well!!! The airport pickup guy was very personable, the office guy helpful. We were initially worried that we were not going to be picked up at the airport; we waited for 30-40 minutes. It seemed longer until one of the other firms' pickup guys told us he had seen your guy earlier and that probably he would be returning for us after he had delivered a full load. It would have been better if these pickup arrangements could have been clarified for us beforehand. Also the office had run out of maps. Even though we had a GPS, we needed to know the rough outline of where we were travelling. It was good to be able to drop the car off at the airport parking lot since we had an early flight. We did misjudge how long that trip is between Reykjavik centre and the airport !!!! Close call!! Maybe customers would appreciate being told that somewhere in your information kit.

This was the first time I have ever rented a vehicle, and the whole process was great. From the whole rental process online to the pickup to the return, everything went smoothly and better than I could have ever imagined. I basically looked for a 4x4 fit for four adults. And found this Suzuki Vitara. I also saw that this was the cheapest site I could find for it. When I landed at the airport, there was a person waiting at the arrivals with a sign that said "Icerental 4x4". He drove us and another party to their car rental station at 4 AM. It took only about 30 minutes for us to get the vehicle because there was one other party there before us picking up a car. We signed some papers and got the keys and got the car. The car had some minor damages. Dents/scratches/missing fog light/small crack in window. However, everything else was great. We didn't have any issues except for the radar sensors (the thing where the car beeps to tell you how close you are to the front or rear). At some point .... it actually malfunctioned on a single pass bridge and automatically braked. I am not sure how safe it is in that sense .... The car came free with a gps and a rear view camera. It did very well driving through the snow and gravel roads. The trunk was fairly large. It fit 4 suitcases and 4 backpacks. My only issue with the car was the faulty radar sensors and the color wasn't that appealing. In addition, the windows did not seem to be sealed tightly. There seemed to be wind coming in through the back windows although they were shut. The return process was very smooth. We drove the vehicle back to the place we picked it up, and the car was quickly inspected. Since our suitcases and stuff were already in the car, they simply drove us to the airport in the car so we didn't have to move everything to the shuttle. It was an awesome trip! I do not regret choosing the Suzuki Vitara. It was great for the price we paid (~$700 USD for 10 days for 4 people)

Nice service! Didn't have any problems. The pick-up and drop-off of the car were smooth. Subaru Forester 2007 was in a good shape. Highly recommend "Icerental 4x4".

Shuttle bus from and to the airport was really convenient. The rental process was quick and easy, but also made me feel a little nervous. No one inspected the car with us before I drove off, unless they take pictures of the car after every customer. I was afraid I would be blamed for something. The car made it through, but there was a check engine light, the driver door didn't close properly, some windows didn't work, and something kept making a noise. Overall the rental experience was fast and easy, but I didn't have peace of mind driving this particular car it was the cheapest though! Still very grateful.

We were met on time for our flight and we were taken straight to the office. No hard selling for 'extras' and we were handed the keys without any fuss. We were offered any help we wanted with the car and then allowed on our way. No issues at all with the vehicle and happy that we would have been given help if needed if anything had gone wrong. Unusually offered a Sat Nav without extra cost which was a bonus. We used Enterprise last time and would recommend using this company instead. Happy customers, thanks!

Initially a good impression. Unfortunately left my phone in their office at Keflavik when we picked up the car at 5am. I called at about 7:30am from Hveragerdi and they suggested meeting in Reykjavik to pick it up at 1pm. Drove back from Hveragerdi to meet at 1pm. They arrived at 1:15 without the phone. Told us to wait as someone was bringing it. We sat outside the office for 2 hours. Finally at 3pm the phone was delivered. No apologies, no compensation for our time. They should have suggested that we pick it up at Keflavik when we called at 7:30 am. It limited the time that we had to spend on our vacation :(

Everything was great. We had no problems and the car was exactly as described when I had booked it. They were also able to pick us up at the airport even though we arrived on a very early flight. Overall, good service and no issues.
