MYCAR in Iceland

The car we got was the actual one we booked and in great condition, staff was knowledgeable and friendly. The only thing that could have been better is that the free airport shuttle only runs once an hour, so you may end up waiting a bit for it.

Corolla was near new and in perfect running order. Also great for parking. The airport shuttle was excellent. Only problem is that I left my Vigur Island black ball cap in the back seat yesterday. Is there any way you could recover it and send it to me? Of course I would pay for the mail/shipping. The hat is difficult to obtain otherwise. Thx.

Everything went well with the car. It was essentially brand new, in perfect condition and very clean. The MyCar staff were very helpful. Pick up was simple. A representative met us at the airport and drove us to where we got our car. Drop off was a little more confusing. MyCar had emailed that they changed addresses, which was great, but I didn't have my email readily available. The paperwork listed two different addresses (which should not happen, even if you have to cross off the incorrect one), one of which I could not program into GPS. We went to the other and saw a MyCar sign... but it turns out that was an old sign. (Please take it down!) I ended up calling the office and someone talked my husband through getting there. They were quite helpful and the distance wasn't far, but it was a little nerve wracking when we're trying to catch a flight. If it weren't for this wrinkle at the last minute, everything would have been perfect. Our thanks to the staff who helped us.

Well organized, easy process, car was in great condition (new, fully fueled, clean) and the staff was polite and helpful! All round a great alternative to the more expensive alternatives. I would recommend!

Outstanding customer service. My requests were addressed very quickly and without difficulty. I would most certainly do business with Northbound again, and I can recommend them without hesitation.

The car was perfect for our group of 8! It was easy and comfortable to drive. Spacious but not too big for parking. Overall we loved it.

We had a great experience with Northbound & MyCar. Everything was seamless from email communications to pick-up/drop-off & everything in between. The Toyota Proace City car we got was new, clean, spacious, and easy to drive. Everything was great and we had a fantastic time driving around beautiful Iceland!

Due to the amount of luggage we had we had to switch to another vehicle. The Toyota Procarbwe had was wonderful. Comfortable, powerful, and economical.

This car served us well. It does have small luggage area, held 1 rolling duffel only, but as we were only 2 people, used back seat for the other.

Hi, Ivar,p At first: we enjoyed Iceland very, very much. Than, our flight had a 3/4 hour delay and another delay of > 1 hour followed: My Car was not at the airport although the driver said something different. We walked around looking for the MyCar logo and finally found it A bad start. But after this start everything went smoothly.

We had a great experience hiring a car through Northbound. Responses to messages were super quick and they easily accommodated any changes we needed to make. Picking up the car and dropping it back was also easy. We loved the car, almost brand new, we felt very safe on the roads of Iceland. We would highly recommend your company to other travellers. The only thing we found a little bit of a hassle was picking up the car from the Reykjavik office and dropping it off was quite far and took a long time to walk and catch the bus.

The car was well prepared clean and full of petrol (Benzine) a joy to drive.

Working with Northbound was a good experience and I would not hesitate to rent a vehicle with them in the future. Our return home flight was cancelled two time (two days) and we were able to quickly make arrangements to retain our Land Cruiser. The new 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser was a fine vehicle to rent. I especially liked the fact it was diesel and was more fuel efficient than gasoline. With the high prices at the pumps in Iceland, that was a good value. Everything on the vehicle worked very well. I liked the option of having the side mirrors fold back towards the body of the vehicle with a simple push of a button. However, If I were to purchase this vehicle for my self I would definitely spend the few extra dollars for the rear-view camera. For a vehicle of this size I am surprised it does not come as standard equipment. The only function I found annoying was that when the vehicle was in drive and I came to a stop, as at a stop light, the vehicle's engine would turn off in 5 seconds. I understand the value in saving fuel but in a traffic situation when I step on the accelerator I want to accelerated at that moment and not wait for the engine to turn on. Fortunately I did find a button that cancels that action, but it has to be selected every time the engine is started. Also, if I rent another Toyota I will certainly want to have a good navigational system. I do own a Toyota Tacoma and find the factory navigational system to be only moderately adequate. I purchased a Garmin system which is far superior. I would certainly bring it along on my next visit to Iceland.

Pick up at the airport was very smooth. One shuttle per hour at 20 min pst the hour. The car came with a full tank of gas. Glad we picked Hybrid since gas in Iceland is very expensive. Quick paperwork. They provide key fobs for gas discount. Return was quick as well. The airport shuttle runs every hour at the top of the hour. Highly recommend MYCAR.

Both Northbound and MYCAR provided outstanding service to us during both the booking process and the pickup and drop off process. We landed from Heathrow after 1 AM and it seemed that MYCAR was one of the few suppliers that offered 24/7 pickup service. Northbound made it easy to compare rates among suppliers and cars and both they and MYCAR were VERY responsive in answering questions during the booking process.

Northbound and Mycar made our Iceland visit incredibly easy and hassle free. The Mycar team were so helpful and friendly with us. If I ever get back to Iceland I will surely use Northbound again. John
