Great good company

Our experience with the Suzuki Jimmy was on point when we were in Iceland. Perfect run-around for the Golden Circle and getting to the Blue Lagoon. The team at Northern Lights Car Rental were helpful and efficient when we got the the office to pick up the car, about 5 minute drive from the airport. They give you a free shuttle to and from the airport. Drop off was quick and easy at the end of our trip and we didn't have to hang around to get a lift back to the airport for our flight. Would highly recommend.

We had a very good experience, good customer service, easy to find shuttle from airport to the car rental. We were happy with the car, it was in good condition, no problem during our 10 day journey. Thanks again.

I finished my trip to Iceland safely and am traveling to Paris. Iceland was able to do so because of the friendly staff who came to the airport to pick up and the staff who helped me quickly deal with the problems that had been caused by my mistake. I rented 3 cars for our group totally over 40 days of rentals. In general it was a fair experience your lower price was the attraction. I had rented this vehicle for 2 weeks and to turn it 4 days early because of illness, When I requested a refund I was originally told no, I was eventually given a 2 day refund, Given i had rented 3 cars there should have be no question refunding the 4 days. Allowing only a 3 hour window to pay the tunnel fee is a tourist trap. People are there to enjoy their vacation and scenery of Iceland not rush around looking for a internet connection trying to time a tunnel crossing, Placing a surcharge on top of it is just wrong. Makes Iceland look like a 3rd world country. I did not like the idea I had to inspect the vehicle for previous damage and make notes on a sheet, to much room for error or overlooked imperfections, it should not be on the renter to document the problems. Makes your company look cheap and that you are out to rip off the customer on return. Waited close to 2 hours for airport pickup, that was not acceptable.

We got off to a bad start when we were picked up 90 minutes late at the airport. Other than a quick apology nothing else was offered for our wasted time. I understand the terms for gravel damage, but I still don't think it's fair. Our windshield had two holes from stones and a fairly large crack, but when we took a hit from a rock we still got hit hard, although we had the gravel insurance. It seems like you can get paid several times for damage that leads to one windshield replacement. It also would have been reasonable to give us a warning that we would need to go online and notify someone when we went through a toll tunnel. There is no indication at any point that the tunnel has a toll so we didn't learn about it until we returned the car. It seems like we will be charged extra for not paying in advance (your employee wasn't sure but he thought that was true). On the good side, despite some age and basic capability of the car, it did great the whole trip, even when we had to travel through a snowstorm with 8-10 inches of snow on a gravel road. In general, it was a good value for the price we paid, other than the hit to the windshield.

Great car with no real issues!

Our “upgraded” 4x4 was very rough and sounded like it was going to fall apart anytime we hit any sort of bump or pothole which is a lot in Iceland). Tons of safety warnings going off and we were told that’s because they do their own maintenance and don’t reset them. Pickup was fantastic. After dropping off the car after a week the shuttle vans were absolutely disgusting, we sat on our bags to avoid sitting in the dirty seat. But eh, that’s life!

Northern Lights Car Rental is OK! We had a very good value-for-money experience with NLCR. The pick-up on arrival at Keflavik took a little time, but afterwards, everything went very smooth. There is one thing to remember: take pictures of the car you rent, not skipping any part. We did it sloppy, having no picture of the door hinge area. The area was also not noted by the agent, so when we returned the car, we were almost charged for damage. Luckily, there were older pictures from another renter, which also showed the damage. The car held itself OK. There were some warning lights on all the time, which I reported in a phone call, but it didn't bother the car at all. It performed very good. All together, I really like the Dacia Duster. I would rent the same car again. After returning the car, we were very acurately transferred to the airport. Good job.
