Car Rentals in Iceland

We had a very good experience with my brother in Iceland. We booked a Suzuki Jimny with a roof tent and it was great. The car was very clean, and it permit us to take some soft trails. The roof tent is very confortable.

I was satisfied with the operation of the vehical and the check in and check out were efficient. I asked for instruction in use of the GPS and felt the instruction was "rushed" and attendent was impation with questions. The GPS was poor at finding most of the places we wanted to go and we ended up using Google Maps. I would recommend that more detail be provided about getting the correct fuel type and procedure at pumps. For example how to get your receipt.

Simply outstanding! We could not have asked for more. The service we received (before, during and after our trip) was second to none, the vehicle and equipment we rented exceeded our expectations. Everything about our trip to Iceland was perfect and Star rental was certainly part of that experience. This vehicle definitely met our needs. I would highly recommend this company and will use them again should we return to Iceland. Friendly and affordable! Note...if I were to do it again, I would rent a 4 wheel drive that could be taken on the F roads. If would have given us the freedom to see more of this incredible country!

I liked the cars, had some advanced features like adaptive cruise control and sports mode etc. Fair pricing as well.

The rental car experience was very sleek. I got exactly the car I had anticipated, and it worked wonderfully for us driving 2000+ km that week in Iceland. The return was also simple and quick, and I took the short walk back to the airport instead of waiting for the congested shuttle bus. I'd use Northbound again.

It was not a Nissan NV200, they gave us a Ford transit connect (we would have prefered the new Nissan model). It work pretty well but WI FI, Radio, Fridge didn't work properly. It was well equipped and they gave us some extra gas for the gas stove. The camper van was confortable and we slept very well.

Very good experience with Lava Auto ! They picked up us at the airport and offered their assistance during our journey around Iceland. They seemed very trustworthy

The pick up at the airport was a bit confusing - they said someone would wait for me with my name on a piece of paper, but in the end, I had to look for someone with a sign of a couple of different logo's of different car rental companies, one of them being Nordic Car Rental. The guy had a list with at least twenty names, but mine wasn't one of them. Anyway, the guy was very nice and took me to the office of Nordic Car Rental. There was confusion about which car was reserved for me. After half an hour, they gave me a Suzuki Vitara instead of the promised Mitsubishi Outlander. Apart from that, we had no problems with the car, and drop of in Reykjavik went very smoothly. In less than five minutes, I was ready to leave. I rented a car several times in Iceland, and this was definitely the best deal we ever found.

The Vitara was absolutely great and we enjoied every minute :-) Also the whole rental experiance was Amazing! The guys we met were super friendly and very helpful! Next time in Iceland we surely rent with NL!!!
