We rented a Dacia Duster with rooftent and had, before arriving to Iceland, To make changes. There was a fast and good response. At arrival we were picked up at the airport and after a quick explanation we were on route with the car. We were very satisfied with it, the only thing what could have been better, was the matrass. Next time in Iceland we go back to Icerental 4x4.
We made a beautiful journey with this car. There were mattresses and pillows available.

The car is just fantastic. We went on Iceland F-roads without any problems. 4WD mode is working nicely when needed.
About the tent, well, camping during a whole month and still dry inside. Wind is your ennemy tought, just place the car accordingly and no worries.
We extended our rent in a blink of and eye.
Efficient staff and fast.
Ci siamo trovati molto bene. La macchina, seppur non nuova, era in buone condizioni e con un grande bagagliaio che per noi era necessario essendo in 5.
Una nota particolare per la simpatia dei ragazzi che sono al desk.
Was upgraded to a Toyota RAV Hybrid, and very nice it was too. I opted for the delivery to my rental option, and car arrived bang on time.
I'm writing this 2 and a half years after I visited Iceland but my memory of my trip is still very good. Everything about Lava Car Rental was excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient and the car was great, although at first it felt like it needed a wheel alignment. I soon got used to it, though, so maybe it was my imagination. The only problem was their office is a bit hard to find but otherwise I highly recommend Lava Car Rental.
En global la nostra experiència ha estat bona. Vem tenir problema amb tres dels cotxes però finalment es va resoldre i no han tingut cap problema en arreglar-ho. Han estat molt amables sempre i son molt recomanables.
Amazing service! During these past years, I have always encountered problems with many car rentals. This time everything was just PERFECT: fast replies to e-mails and calls, speedy check-in and check-out and great value for money. I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Iceland!
The car was brandnew,
MyCar was helpful and reliable.
Shuttle from and to the airport absolutely in time and reliable.
All in all a very positive experience.
The car was great. We had no issues with the car.
The only problem was, that there was nothing to hang clothes on.
Everything was in very good condition: the car, the support, the interior fitting had all you needed, the people were very kind,...
One little thing that is not perfect is that the emergency number wasn’t available for 24h. But we solved our problem ourself, so it wasn’t that dramatic.

Un véhicule confortable, propre et agréable à conduire sur les chemins.
Everything was perfect!
It was not the Ford, it was Dacia Dokker. So it was a little different than what we expected.
Some features of the car are not very appropriate for this kind of use, like: you can not open the back door from inside; you have to change the seats before sleeping...
Great! Very responsive, very good car in execellent condition
We had a really good experience with Northern Lights car rental. First off, they were very accommodating with multiple changes we had to make, including last-minute changes, due to Covid 19 related flight cancellations and rebookings.
We rented a four wheel drive Dacia Duster, which was perfect for our 3-week tour on the rough dirt roads ( not F-roads) along the fjords and over the mountains in West Iceland and the Westfjords. The Duster was not the newest, but it was obviously well maintained. It was very rugged and never let us down.
The rental service was really good. All of the information was clear. Upon arrival everything was settled already and the returning went really quick as well. Good shuttle service from and to the airport
The employees were friendly and the price of the rental was good, but the rented car had a lot of mechanical and electronic problems (not very comforting during our stay).
The ideal car for the way we travel in Iceland. Just the right size for two people and our luggage and very competent on the F-roads (the suspension was a bit hard but that is part of the fun). A proper miniature LandRover.
the experience with Lava camper was good with very competitive prices compared to other rentals. the only points that can be improved are: 1) would need darkened side windows or curtains as they are not present. 2) to go off road it is better to put big wheels that soften the impact with the ground. quality and competitive prices with other rentals.
First the Nissan NV200 was not available whe we arrived. So they gave us a Dacia Dokker. As we did'nt agree on that point, they decided to deliver us a Toyota PROACE the day after our arrival. But we had Heater problems with the Toyota. So we switch again for the Dacia for 3 days during the Toyota Heater repair. At least the Toyota was delivered again and we did appreciate this new car with the heater functioning correctly.
The people in contact with us during this period were very watchful, reactive and relentless to find the solution for us and be sure every thing was ok. We did appreciate a lot their kindless and their devotion.
I was a bit worried about using Blue Car rental for our two week Iceland adventure, but it turned out to be a good decision. I'd originally booked with one of the big hire companies, but was tempted to switch to Blue when I saw their price was over £300 cheaper for the same car. Separately, I took out excess cover with an insurance company, just to be safe (around £40 for annual cover - why haven't I done this before?!!). When I picked up the car we were upgraded from a Dacia Duster to a Nissan Quashqai. There was no hard sell on extra cover when I told them I had my own, and the process was very quick. Our bags barely fit in the car (3 young kids means a lot of stuff) but a guy came out and helped - he suggested taking out the two base boards in the boot, which meant we could just about fit everything in, and we were away. After two weeks we returned the car. I was told to leave the keys on a desk and I would receive a condition report on the car...
